Gay Street Inn - Washington, Virginia Our 1860s “two over two” farmhouse in the historic village of Washington, Virginia, will welcome you to a relaxing stay in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Set on the edge of town, with mature trees and views of the mountains from its half-acre, we are walking distance from the renowned restaurant of the Inn at Little Washington, and minutes from Shenandoah National Park, award-winning wineries, horseback riding and antique stores.

Your day here begins between 8:30 and 9:30 with a home-cooked breakfast in our sunroom. The menu changes daily, but ranges from Grandma Rose’s special buttermilk pancakes to cream cheese-stuffed French toast, smoked Virginia sausage, hams and bacon, fresh fruit, locally roasted coffee, teas and fresh juices.

A self-serve continental breakfast also is available between 7:30 and 10:30 – featuring home-baked muffins or rolls, fresh fruit, and coffee and teas. We will gladly accommodate any special dietary needs with advance notice.

On your arrival, enjoy complimentary wine or another beverage while you settle in and explore the Inn.

All guests are welcome to make use of the Inn’s amenities, including the Library with fireplace, Sunroom with tables for reading or game-playing, Front Porch with its views of the mountains, and our gardens. The restored 1860s farmhouse features 4 individually decorated guestrooms, each with its own character (and each with private bath and individually controlled heat and air). Various features in our rooms may include views of Shenandoah National Park, furnishings made by Virginia craftsmen, antiques, side chairs, and much more. Our studio apartment is a large bedroom with king-size bed, mountain views, private bath with shower, and a private, eat-in kitchen. Rates range from $165 - $215 on weeknights, and $185 - $255 on weekends.
