Circa 1909 A granddaughter of the original family says she remembers there were always so many guests at her grandparents' home that you never knew from one day to the next who would be at the dinner table.

Since 1995 The current owners, the Ripleys, have affectionately restored Federal Crest to again offer a haven for refined guests, combining elegance with a personal touch.

The tradition of old-style Virginia hospitality continues... examples of the original charm are seen in the magnificent woodwork and the classical columns leading to the grand central staircase. Guests can enjoy the unique mantels of seven fireplaces found in the parlour, library, dining room and bedrooms. Viewing the architecture as it was built at the turn of the century in early Lynchburg is a real treat as one strolls through the home. A delightful surprise can be enjoyed in the "50's Café" off the dining room and perhaps there will be a special visitation to the third floor where the original owner constructed a stage for his children to give plays.
