Introduction
The Charles Bass House is a safe and healthy half-mile walk down Main Street to downtown with shops, restaurants and churches. It is a short drive to many historic and recreational destinations. Charles Bass, the original owner, built the house in 1904 when it was prestigious to live on the main street in town. Many of the homes in the neighborhood are from this era.
Besides the comfortable living and dining rooms, you will enjoy the sun porch, back porch, hot tub and spacious deck. The shaded yard on the south side of the house, enclosed by a white picket fence, is the domain of the Fall Crocus that blooms all over each fall in October.
Guest Suite
While at The Charles Bass House, you will enjoy the privacy of your own suite of rooms. Off the central downstairs hall, your accommodations will include a spacious bedroom with large windows that open onto the shaded side yard. Adjoining your bedroom is a large sitting room, which will be your TV room or can be a second bedroom when the sofa is made into a full size bed. A private bath is also included with this suite.
Guest Room
The upstairs Guest Room with full size bed and shared bath is overlooking the side yard. A common sitting room with TV is just across the hall.
