Local Attractions include...
Quaint Towns · Historic Battlefields · Museums · Antiquing · Caverns · Covered Bridges · Vineyards... and a relaxing setting within the Massanutten Mountains bordered by the Shenandoah River with parks and related sports.
Woodstock is located in the heart of the Massanutten Mountains. The town is rich in history dating back before the Revolutionary War. Main Street, Old Valley Pike (Route 11), was an Indian Trail and later a byway for the Civil War troops. Many stories about Mosby, the Gray Ghost, who fought with a small band of Confederate soldiers withdrew to the Mountains that are the backdrop for the town of Woodstock.
View the Shenandoah River and its seven bends that meander through tracks of farms from the Woodstock Tower. A breathtaking view!
In town, the houses in the historic district are still in use for business or private residents. These homes date back to the late 1700s and 1800s. Woodstock appeals to the senses, not only in breathtaking mountain views, smelling fresh air, shopping the antique shops or local farm produce or fruit, but listening to the church bells on the hour, make the town quaint and peaceful!
Welcome to our 19th Century country home and bed and breakfast, built before the Civil War, is beautifully restored right down to the antique furnishings. The Candlewick Inn has four guest rooms with private baths and sitting areas updated with central air-conditioning..
Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast in our dining room, sun room, or on a private balcony deck. Homemade bread and jam are the "house specialty" to complement your full breakfast.
