Introduction
Step through our door and walk in to a charming piece of historic Urbanna. Atherston Hall was built in 1880 for a local schooner captain and his family and restored in 2005. Nestled one block away from the waterfront, docks and beaches of the Chesapeake, Atherston Hall is just around the corner from all Urbanna has to offer.
Relax with a book on our side porch. Or sit in the bright morning sun with your breakfast at our umbrella covered wood porch table. In our front picket fence a petit English garden is graced with a custom copper fountain. Roses and latch gates ring the circular center and front sitting porch of the house. Just beyond the drive is our traditional English garden. A full picket fence rims a lush collection of seasonal flowers and stone monoliths. Around the gardens perimeter, a sitting area is tucked in along the flanks of Hydrangea, roses, and herbs.
We have two comfortable sitting rooms. Comfortably furnished, Norfolk's flat screen television with cable and DVD player is the perfect place to watch a movie or check the latest weather to plan your day. Or relax in the Dorset, a delightful sitting room for reading or quiet reflection where you can have afternoon tea (by appointment) before taking a stroll to one of Urbanna's restaurants.
On our cupboard you will find an early morning carafe of coffee followed by a sumptuous breakfast at our table. Home made granola complimented by honey and yogurt, freshly made warm dish of the day. Some of our latest favorites include: Traditional eggs, bacon and toast, Waffles with Caramelized Bananas, Crepes - Sweet or Savory, Spiced French Toast with berries, and Frittatas with Fresh Garden Veggies.
