Introduction
One of Bath County's oldest buildings, Anderson Cottage has been in the present owner's family since the 1870s.
The rambling house is actually two buildings, log and clapboard. The original four rooms housed an 18th century tavern. It has also been a girls' school and a summer inn. The 1820 brick kitchen is now a separate guest cottage.

An art gallery has opened in Warm Springs. Shopping is available at craft, antique and specialty shops in Hot Springs and Monterey. In the summer months and on special occasions during the year chamber music of high quality is available at Garth Newel Music Center.
Warm Springs is a good base for day trips to Lexington and to Staunton, home of the Museum of American Frontier Culture, to Pocahontas County, West Virginia, to the west, and Highland County, to the north.
The Main House has parlors and porches for guests. The large level yard is ideal for croquet and badminton, and the warm stream from the Warm Springs pools flows through the property. For rainy days there are board games and jigsaw puzzles.
Breakfast is served in the large dining room, with open fire on chilly days, or in the comfortable country kitchen.
The house has been in the same family for more than a century and the furnishings are almost entirely family pieces.
The library of several thousand books runs the gamut from Southern to science fiction.
The front hall, adjoining the parlor, dining room and porches are for everyone's enjoyment. In the parlor and front hall are maps, nature books and other reference materials.
