Cedar City, which calls itself Festival City USA, is located in southwestern Utah, only an hour and a half drive from either Bryce Canyon or Zion National Park. Make a Cedar City bed and breakfast or B&B your home away from home in this happening town. Cedar City hosts more than 17 annual events, which include the Utah Shakespearean Festival, the Utah Midsummer Renaissance Faire, the Neil Simon Festival, the Thunderbird International Film Festival, the Groovefest American Music Festival, the Great American Stampede and the Utah Summer Games. Among the attractions here are the stunning Dixie National Forest Cedar City District, the Iron Mission State Park Museum (for regional history), Exit 59 Skateboard Park, and a number of local parks and children’s playgrounds. You can also go skiing and/or snowboarding in winter at nearby Brian Head with your family. Brian Head was named one of the Top 10 Getaways for Family Travelers. There are more than 50 Cedar City inns and more than a dozen Cedar City B&Bs. The WOW Eatery on Main Street is renowned for its mostly vegetarian and vegan cuisine. The Hawaii Cafe serves up Hawaiian specialties. There are also Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Mexican, and, of course, American restaurants to choose from.
