Introduction
Located on the Bluff City Historic Loop, Calf Canyon Bed & Breakfast is a new...
... pioneer-style home constructed over the foundation of the 1880's Hunt House.
Bluff, in the Four Corners area of Southeast Utah, is the jump-off point for new adventure: high desert mesa canyon backcountry explorations of spectacular natural sites like Monument Valley, Natural Bridges National Monument, Grand Gulch, and Hovenweep National Monument, as well as rafting on the San Juan River which flows through town. Thousands of archeological sites are scattered in the area around Bluff. The Sand Island petroglyphs, located just outside of town, display an array of animals including elk, bighorn sheep, and the flute playing Kokopelli. The jewel of it all, the great Navajo Reservation, lies just south across the San Juan River.
Guests can relax and mingle in the living room surrounded by Southwestern books, maps and artwork.
Upstairs are three bedrooms with big, old-style double-hung windows looking out two sides; each room with private, full bath. Navajo rugs and artwork complement views over town to the bluffs.
Pioneer Room - Furnished with a double size pineapple four-poster bed and other New England antiques, photographs, and paintings from Sarah and Duke's parents. The room has views south to Casa del Eco Mesa and east along the San Juan Valley toward Colorado. Private, full bath. $100 plus tax.
Storm Room - Named for the storm pattern Navajo rug woven by Leona Holiday of Oljato near Monument Valley. Leona used handspun wool from Duke and Sarah's Lincoln sheep. The room has a queen size bed. Views are south to Casa del Eco Mesa and west along the San Juan River Valley. Private, full bath. $110 plus tax.
Chief's Room(pictured on first page) - Furnished with a queen size cedar Adirondack-style bed, large Navajo Chief's rug and original artwork. Views are east along the San Juan River Valley and north to the sandstone bluffs above town. Private, full bath. $120 plus tax

Your hosts, Duke and Sarah Hayduk, have wandered throughout the Southwest and lived for three years near famous Canyon de Chelly on the Navajo Reservation. "We can direct you to some of our favorite, don't-want-to-miss-it-spots -- whether you're headed north, south, east, west or anything in between..."
