There is a place not too far away, inviting you to relax and get away from it all. Among the beautiful countryside of Door County and nestled peacefully in a quiet neighborhood, the Sawyer House Bed & Breakfast awaits you.

Built in 1902, this Victorian Style home in Sturgeon Bay was named for the village of Sawyer, the original name for the west side of Sturgeon Bay before annexation in the late 1800's. From the cozy decor of the natural hardwood floors and antique furniture to the warmth and inviting fireplace and whirlpool, the Sawyer House has been recently remodeled with your comfort in mind. The Sawyer House Bed & Breakfast offers...

Relaxation...in the library in front of the fireplace with a selection of books to choose from or in the front parlor. Or enjoy the outside on our large deck or multiple flower gardens. Or borrow a CD to enjoy in your room.

Enjoyment...in the front parlor with a television and VCR to view a favorite video. The guest telephone is also available for your use in the parlor.

Delicious...full breakfasts served in the dining room daily at 9 a.m. Sweets (cookies, bars, pies, etc..) are available for an afternoon/evening treat.

Amenities...in each guest room a queen-size bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, CD player, cable TV, alarm clock, and small refrigerator, most also have gas fireplaces and double whirlpools.

Comfort...in the four guest rooms or 2 bedroom Lighthouse Suite, each designed with a unique theme.

Second Floor - Also our honeymoon suite. Relax atop the antique high-boy bed with a view of the water, or unwind in front of the gas fireplace on your full size couch. The room also features a cable TV. The color scheme is white and red tones. Roses are stenciled above the windows and blend with the rose theme in the room. The attached large bathroom has a double whirlpool with a separate shower.

 

 

 

First Floor

A cozy room with a soothing yellow and green decor complete with an antique black iron bed with gold accents, the original hardwood floor, cable TV, double whirlpool with shower and bathroom.

 

 

 

Second Floor

This lacy white room is graced with an antique white iron bed with brass accents, gas fireplace, cable TV, and soft carpeting. The bathroom is a short distance down the hall and has a claw-foot tub with shower.

As the name suggests, the decor is a delightful green and white with an antique four-poster mahogany bed, gas fireplace, cable TV, and soft carpeting. View the beauty of the outdoors or relax in the double whirlpool or shower.

Directions: Travel north on Highway 42-57 north Sturgeon Bay and take the first business exit into Sturgeon Bay. Continue on that road, down the hill and before the next stop light, turn left on Oak Street (intersection prior is Pine Street). The sign for the Sawyer House Bed & Breakfast is directly in front when at the stop sign. Turn left onto Lansing Avenue and turn in the first driveway on the right. We will greet you at the side door. Enjoy the drive!
