Platteville is a city in Grant County, which boasts several unique B&B establishments. Platteville is known for its Heartland Festival that is held by University of Wisconsin in June through July. You can also enjoy the week-long Hometowne Festival in the last part of July, which includes many live bands in the city park. If you want to learn a little more about the history of Platteville, definitely go check out the Rollo Jameison Museum. Also go to the Platteville Mining Museum where you are lowered into the 1845 Bevans lead mine. After you emerge from the mine, you'll be especially appreciative of your accommodations at a nearby Platteville bed and breakfast or a Platteville inn. Boomtown Grill is a bar and grill with an 1800's mining theme. It serves a variety of food and its menu offers BBQ, steaks, chicken, fish, pasta and sandwiches. Or try McDermott's Café. Its a family restaurant with full service menus, and its not too far away from your Platteville B&B. Less
