Welcome to the St. Croix River Inn. This beautiful house of stone was meticulously restored in 1984. Nestled on the bluffs of the St. Croix River, the inn offers spectacular river views that are enhanced by the elegant and comfortable ambiance. With its dramatic windows to the river, guests can watch the morning light shine upon the waters as a sumptuous breakfast is served to their room.

The St. Croix River Inn offers all of the comforts you would expect from a fine country inn. I-94 East and MN 95 North

From the Twin Cities, travel Interstate 94 East to the last Minnesota exit, MN 95 North. Follow MN 95 North for 29 miles to MN 243. Turn right on 243 across the river and turn left at the stop sign at WI 35, Osceola's main street. Drive north thru town and turn left on Third Avenue. Turn right onto River Street. The Inn will be on your left.

We recommend the above route to get to the Inn. You'll find the drive very scenic as you travel along the river's edge and through the beautiful rolling countryside. Stillwater and the surrounding region is one of the most historic areas of Minnesota, dating to 1839. There are numerous vistas and historical plaques describing the history and early logging of the St. Croix area. The cliffs and rock formations are magnificent.

On the north edge of Bayport is the corporate and manufacturing headquarters of Anderson Corporation. Celebrating its 100 years on the banks of the St. Croix River in 2003, Anderson is the largest window and door manufacturer in the U.S.

MN 36 East and MN 95 North

From the Twin Cities, travel MN 36 to Stillwater. Turn north on MN 95 to MN 243 (approximately 23 miles). Turn right on 243 across the river and turn left at the stop sign at WI 35, Osceola's main street. Drive north thru town and turn left on Third Avenue. Turn right onto River Street. The Inn will be on your left.

This more central route also results in a very scenic and relaxing drive on MN 95 North, through the most historic segments of the St. Croix area.

I-35E or I-35W North and MN 97 East

Drive north on either I-35E or I-35W. Approximately 2 miles after their merger, exit MN 97. Turn right (east) and drive approximately 20 miles. (You will jog around Hwy 61, but remain on MN 97). Turn left on MN 95 and follow for 4 miles to MN 243. Turn right on 243 across the river and turn left at the stop sign at WI 35, Osceola's main street. Drive north thru town and turn left on Third Avenue. Turn right onto River Street. The Inn will be on your left.

This more northerly route takes you through rural Minnesota.

I-35 North/South and MN 8 East

From I-35 exit MN 8 and turn east. Drive east to MN 95 and turn right. Drive south to MN 243 and turn left. Turn left at the stop sign at WI 35, Osceola's main street. Drive north thru town and turn left on Third Avenue. Turn right onto River Street. The Inn will be on your left.

If you have the time or are coming from a more northerly community, this drive will take you through the lake communities and rural farmland of Chisago County. This route offers an entirely different scene of the beautiful lake country. It does take you a few miles out of the way, but may be very worthwhile.
