The French Country Inn

A beautiful restored small hotel in the tradition of a European inn. We take pride in offering our guests a 33 room retreat, featuring fireplaces, armoires, whirlpools and balconies only 15 feet from the shore of the lake with gorgeous views and spectacular sunsets.

A full complimentary breakfast is served each morning in our lakeside dining room and late afternoon tea is served in our parlor. (Monday - Thursday, during the off-season a breakfast basket is delivered to your room). The award-winning Wakefield's Restaurant is located on the premises and features gourmet dining and an extensive wine list. It is best to call our on-site restaurant for reservations for your special weekend.

Our luxury Inn is one hour from Milwaukee and 90 minutes from Chicago. After driving down a long winding country road off of Highway 50, you will see the panorama of the French Country Inn grounds and pool. Our lodgings are grouped along the shore of serene Lake Como. The hustle and bustle of the town of Lake Geneva with its quaint shopping is a mere 5 minute drive from our Inn. You will appreciate being in our lovely setting as you watch the sunset from your private room deck.

The French Country Inn on the Lake has set aside a large intimate Gathering Room for your informal business meeting. Located in the L'Auberge building on the lakefront, it also houses 8 luxury rooms. It is a perfect setting for your group to take over the entire building plus any needed extra rooms. The inn has a total of 33 rooms which are shown on the accommodations page. The Gathering Room furniture can be moved around to accommodate your needs. It can also be set up in a more traditional meeting layout with tables and chairs. It has a kitchenette with microwave, sink and dishwasher and deli luncheon can be ordered ahead of time.

The Innkeeper, Amy Myhre (1-262-245-5220 phone) can assist you with your business needs. We will provide you with internet access, projector, screen set-up, easel and any AV needs. Mary can suggest some ideas tailored to your group such as private boat tours with dining, golf groups and sporting ideas. The inn has one of the finest dining experiences on the premises - Wakefield's Restaurant and reservations can be arranged. Meetings at the French Country Inn with its lovely lakeside setting are a unique experience.

We also invite you to visit the town of Williams Bay - a hidden gem situated on Lake Geneva, 5 minutes from the Inn. As you drive up the long winding road onto Hightway 50, turn right and you will find some unique boutiques in this charming town for housewares, gifts, clothing, fashion jewelry and purses. Williams Bay also has great restaurants with lakeviews. Visit the Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy which borders the lakefront as drive into Williams Bay.
