The Davenport House B&B

The Davenport House Bed and Breakfast original main house was built in 1925 but provides the accommodations of the 21st century. It's perfect for a romantic getaway or a cozy overnight with the family on the way to the local ski resorts or to enjoy the many fun activities of the scenic Greenbrier Valley. Family reunions and weddings are also very welcome at our family friendly home.

Located right outside the charming, historic town of Lewisburg, you can do what your heart desires. We have a fitness center within 2 minutes. Other activities include hiking, mountain biking, swimming, shopping to just reading and relaxing there are endless possibilities! Lewisburg also provides many fabulous restaurants, pubs and coffee shops, not to mention live theatre & arts centers. The nearby historic hotel & resort, The Greenbrier is also a wonderful visit with shops, gardens and an art colony and the host of the 2010 PGA Tour.

In the mornings enjoy a fully cooked breakfast put in the cottage the night before so guests may have breakfast when they wish. You can enjoy your breakfast on the large deck overlooking local farms and listen to the morning doves and watch the picturesque Scottish sheep.

The proprietors of The Davenport House Bed & Breakfast are Jeanne & Michael Christie, long term residents of West Virginia. Jeanne has a background in Hospitality having worked for 15 years in the hotel industry, most recently at The Greenbrier Hotel as Director of Operations. Michael is a professional artist who shows in New York, Nantucket and at The Greenbrier Hotel. They decided to focus on quality time with their family and return to Michaels origins of farming and open the Bed & Breakfast cottages while growing a small family farm and continuing the career in the arts.

The Davenport House is a family friendly environment with large lawn areas for play, expanding gardens and the beginnings of a Scottish sheep herd. Soon, they hope to have chickens and a small fish pond. Come play with your kids and soak in the hot tub or go shopping in historic downtown Lewisburg or in the summer go kayaking, fly fishing or to the PGA Golf Classic at The Greenbrier in July or the West Virginia State Fair in August.

Michael will soon be offering Art History and Art Class seminars in conjunction with the Bed & Breakfast.
