The Beekeeper Inn Bed & Breakfast-Helvetia, West Virginia

The Beekeeper Inn, nestled among the beautiful mountains of Randolph County, West Virginia, is a magical place hidden by tall firs and lulled by the nearby mountain stream. It is one of the oldest buildings in Helvetia, circa 1870, and home of the original beekeeper.

Helvetia (pronounced Hel-vay-sha) is a Swiss village with a proud heritage, and the residents have worked hard to preserve its traditions and customs. Helvetia was the first district in West Virginia to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Ten historic building have been preserved, including an original settler's cabin that is now a museum filled with artifacts.

We are located 15 minutes from Holly River State Park, 20 miles from the West Virginia State Game Preserve at French Creek, and 12 miles from Kumbrabow State Forest.

The antique-filled inn has three comfortable bedrooms, each with its own private bath, a book-filled common room, small kitchen and an airy deck. It is the perfect place for couples, offering you seclusion and quiet. You may walk the shady country roads, fish in the nearby stream, laze in the hammock under the massive pines, cross country ski in winter, or just do nothing!

If you must travel, we are within easy driving distance of many of West Virginia's points of interest and some of the best ski areas on the east coast.

Delicious food is available nearby at the Hutte Restaurant. The Hutte is open every day from noon until 7:00 p.m. with a full menu. Sunday features a country brunch called "Bernerplatte," truly a Swiss delight.
