Circa 1700, this graceful English Tudor inn meanders down the hillside overlooking a pond framed by daffodils and 17 acres of estate grounds that include streams, gardens and wooded walks. The land upon which our beautiful West Virginia bed and breakfast sits once belonged to George Washington; and although most of the current structure was built in 1920, part began in the 1700s.

Decorated in a European country-house style, this attractive Charles Town bed and breakfast is replete with rich dark woods and interesting pieces that demand a lengthy stay to fully enjoy. In 2004 we purchased this striking Charles Town inn. From the moment we drove down the driveway we fell in love and knew we had to make it an important part of our life. We did not just want to hold this dream for ourselves; we wanted to share it with everyone!

Not only are Chris and Carissa business partners, but partners in life. We have been a part of each other's life for 17 years and we look forward to every aspect of our life together! Dinner

A Sumptuous five-course candlelit dinner served in the elegant and eclectic dining room of our romantic West Virginia restaurant, Thursdays - Sundays seating promptly 8 pm or our sumptuous three-course menu seating promptly at 6:00pm. Our menu is determined by the market availability as well as dietary needs, restrictions and dislikes of our guests in the dining room. There will be no menu presented at dinner, instead every course is a pleasant surprise designed by Executive Chef Christine Hale. Please do not hesitate to tell us your dietary preferences, because you will be pleasantly surprised with her ability to adapt a menu for the dietary needs of all our guests; including the needs of a diabetic or a vegetarian guest. Along with a long list of dietary requirements and allergies we often work around, Executive Chef Christine Hale incorporates only the freshest and finest of ingredients in her set menu. Reservation Required. Five-Course Dinner $65 per person plus tax and gratuity. Three-Course Dinner $45 per person plus tax and gratuity.

Lunch

Join us for a three-course leisurely lunch, overlooking the extensive grounds at our delectable Charles Town restaurant, between 12 - 2 pm Thursday - Sunday. There will be no menu presented at lunch at Hillbrook Inn. Instead, Executive Chef Christine Hale takes the dietary needs, restrictions and dislikes and designs a set menu daily to accommodate guest's needs. Each course is a splendid surprise and a delightful experience for your palate. 8 or More People Reservations Required. $35 per person plus tax and gratuity.

Breakfast

Enjoy Charles Town dining at its best! Our lavish Charles Town Inn provides a delicious two-course gourmet breakfast included with your room stay. Breakfast may not apply with some specials.

High Tea

Relax with friends and enjoy Five-Courses of Savories and Sweets. Perhaps you could even indulge in a glass of chilled Champagne in the elegant and cozy surroundings of our Harpers Ferry restaurant. This traditional afternoon may be the perfect backdrop for your next garden meeting, bridal shower or just a day to refresh yourself with the company of friends. Reservations for 8 or more required when booking. Availability Thursdays - Sundays from 12 - 2 pm. $35 per person plus tax and gratuity.

Bullskin Tavern

You do not have to be a guest of Hillbrook Inn to join us for a cocktail at our wonderful WV inn and restaurant. Enjoy the bar, sit in front of the roaring fire in our living room or take pleasure in sitting on the sunny front terrace. Many guests enjoy playing on the baby grand piano or listening to the fountain on the front terrace during their visit. You are welcome to stop by the Tavern for a drink and a tour of the Inn. Thursday - Sunday.

From Washington, DC
Take Route 495 (Beltway) to Route 270 North to Frederick, MD. Take 70 West to Route 340 West past Harpers Ferry to Charles Town, WV. Stay straight onto Route 51 West through the stoplights in Charles Town to the three-way stop sign as you exit the commercial district. At the stop sign bear left onto Route 13, Summit Point Road. The Inn is five miles ahead on the left just past South Jefferson Elementary School.

From Northern Virginia
Take 7 West to the exit for Route 340 North, marked for Charles Town, WV. Follow 340 North about ¾ mile to Route 611 (Summit Point Rd.) and make a left. Take 611 about 5.5 miles to the first stop sign which is Route 13 (Summit Point Rd. as well). Go right at the stop sign one mile to the Inn on your right.

From Route 81 South
Take Route 51 East through Inwood 5.5 miles to Leetown Road. Turn right on Leetown Road for 6.3 miles to the first stop sign (Route 13, Summit Point Road). Go left one mile to the Inn on the right.

From Baltimore, MD
Take Route 70 West to Route 340 West past Harpers Ferry to Charles Town, WV. Stay straight onto Route 51 West through the stoplights in Charles Town to the three-way stop sign as you exit the commercial district. At the stop sign bear left onto Route 13, Summit Point Road. From Dulles Airport
Take the Greenway to Route 7 West and follow the directions immediately above.

Hillbrook can pamper you and your guests with an exclusive network of vendors to cater to your every need. We are also willing to create any custom items requested for an event. Some items we have created in the past are: custom linens, lined gift baskets, custom quilts, napkins, cushion covers with elegant pillows and wedding gowns.

• Dining Room: Our elegant dining room is lined with wooden tables, a large wood burning fireplace and a stunning wall of windows. It is the perfect place to hold a small and intimate gathering for your special occasion. Capacity of Dining Room is 18 guests
• Sunroom: Join us for your event in the quaint sun room overlooking the magnificent grounds and beautiful gardens. This room will help to create a wonderful setting for your special event at Hillbrook. We can accommodate a small number of guests in this room, but can also expand into the elegant dining room located just over the threshold of the door. Capacity of Sun Room is 14 guests
• Living Room: Due to our unique architecture at Hillbrook some guests choose to utilize the living room space to add seating for guests. As a staff we make this an extension of our dining facility simply by adding a table to seat an additional eight guests. This room has vaulted ceilings, beautiful wood, glass windows cascading down two walls and two wood burning fireplaces. Capacity of Living Room is 8 guests

• Mainhouse: Cocktail and Hors D' Oeuvres By utilizing the entire Main House for your event, and allowing guests to meander around the interior of the Inn we can accommodate more guests. For this type of event we welcome guests to enjoy every corner of the Inn, and it encourages guests to relax, talk and enjoy the evening. Capacity for Cocktail and Hors D' Oeuvres is 50-60
• Private Chef: Executive Chef Christine Hale will be an intricate part of events at Hillbrook. Her passion for food, elegance in the kitchen and award winning meals make for a unique experience. Her simplistic style and charming personality is one more reason why our guests return to Hillbrook.
• Tent Rental: We can accommodate larger numbers of guests on the grounds located behind the main facility. We will create a beautiful tent for up to 150 guests at Hillbrook. This tent will include all the amenities needed for your special event. Included is the following: Pole Tent/Accessories, Tables, Chairs, White or Cream Linens, Outdoor Kitchen, and Bathroom Facility. Additional Amenities that are recommended: Tent liners, Chandeliers, Dance Floor, Stage, Custom Linens and unique Stage Curtains.
• Other Rental Items: Hillbrook will proudly assist in rental items that will enhance events. We take pride in making sure that the host is able to create the ambiance they are looking to achieve.
• Linen Customization: We own a quilting business named Hillbrook Quilting and are more than willing to custom any items requested for an event at Hillbrook Inn. Some items we have created in the past are; custom lined gift baskets, custom quilts, napkins, table linens, custom cushion covers with elegant pillows and even helped to finish a brides wedding gown.
• Guest Room Rental: Events scheduled past 3 pm require all the guest rooms to be booked. Rates vary by season and day of the week. Room rates include a one night stay and a two-course gourmet breakfast for 18 guests.

Hillbrook prides itself in accommodating weddings, showers, birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, company meetings or picnics, celebration of friendships and more. Our West Virginia Inn is particularly appropriate for small events. We can also accommodate larger events on our extensive and magnificent grounds under beautiful tents. We provide a banquet manager to assist with your every need while planning your event, as well as a reliable and talented staff. Our goal is to make your day flawless, while creating a backdrop that is breathtaking. We are ultimately here to create a day to remember! The unique interior of our historic Charles Town hotel is a beautiful backdrop for special occasions and helps to create memories that are unforgettable.

Hillbrook can accommodate up to 60 guests inside the Main House & up to 150 utilizing the grounds.

We have designed and created some exceptional packages, but are also very happy to design an event specifically to your needs and wants.

Our elegant dining room is lined with unique antique tables, a large wood burning fireplace and a stunning wall of windows. It is the perfect place to hold a small and intimate gathering for your special occasion.

SUNROOM - 14 Guests
Join us for your event in our quaint sun room overlooking the magnificent grounds and beautiful gardens. This room creates a wonderful setting for special events at Hillbrook. We can accommodate a small number of guests in this room, but can also expand into our elegant dining room located just through the adjacent threshold.

LIVING ROOM - 8 Guests
Due to our unique architecture, some guests choose to utilize our living room space for additional seating for their guests and we make this an extension of our dining facility, simply by adding a table to seat an additional eight guests. This room has vaulted ceilings, beautiful aged wood, glass-paned windows cascading down two walls plus two large and cozy wood burning fireplaces.

MAINHOUSE - 50-60 Guests
Consider ‘Cocktails and Hors D’ Oeuvres’ while utilizing the entire Main House for your Harpers Ferry wedding. Guests can meander throughout the interior of the Inn, its common areas, living room, porch, library and of course the ever-popular Bullskin Tavern with its flat screen TV, board games, quaint tavern bar and of course mixed seating surrounding a warm gas fireplace, encouraging guests to relax, chat and enjoy the evening.

Outdoor Capacity

FRONT TERRACE - 65 Guests, 75 utilizing Tavern
Choose our spectacular stone terrace in front of the Bullskin Tavern for your outdoor wedding in West Virginia, with its beautiful fountain completely tented to protect your guests. If guests choose to also utilize the tavern then hosts have the opportunity to increase guest numbers.

BACK YARD - 150 Guests
Hillbrook is a true storybook setting that creates memories that are unforgettable and our magnificent manicured grounds can accommodate larger events under beautiful tents.

We are dog lovers at Hillbrook Inn and welcome your little furry friends. We realize that some vacations are not complete without the furry members of your family. Hillbrook is a wonderful place for a pet with its extensive grounds and rooms with private entrances. In addition, we are near historic Harpers Ferry, the perfect place to walk with your family and dog. We have two ponds at Hillbrook and have had our puppies find their way in. This is not a problem…it is nothing a hose and some towels can’t fix. Please notify us if you need a towel for your pet and we will be more than happy to accommodate.

• Very well-behaved pets are welcome with responsible parents/owners.
• We do not accept more than 2 dogs per suite and there is a $35.00 charge per pet, per night.
• Included in your rate is our "Doggy Bag" plastic bags for poop scooping, puppy paws towel and a special treat!
• Dogs must be on leashes at all times at Hillbrook Inn.
• We do ask that you not leave your dog loose and/or unattended in the suite while you are out for the day.  Pets may be left unattended only if crated. Unattended doges make it difficult for housekeeping and Hillbrook staff. *(Hillbrook has one crate available if needed. Please inquire when making reservation. Crate rental fee $35.00 per night in addition to the $35.00 pet fee)
• We expect that dogs will not disturb other guests by barking or whining.
• Poop scooping is required.
• Owners are responsible in FULL for any damages. *(Examples: Chewing of furniture/architectural structures, ruining of carpets by mud/soiling/ or chewing, destroying of linens or towels. Innkeepers will make all damage assessments.)
• We will supply bowls for food and water.
• Hillbrook will supply towels for our furry friend’s paws. If our bathroom towels are used, there will be additional charges incurred. ($15.00 per towel). To avoid charges, please just notify a staff member that more towels are needed and we would be happy to assist.
• Wet feet and coats must be wiped before entry into the suite.
• Pets must be clean and treated for fleas and ticks.
• We ask you to bring your pet's favorite bedding.
• If your dog takes an unexpected swim in the pond, don’t worry, we would be happy to show you where the hose is if you need it! (Your puppy would not be the first!)
• If your dog is not well-behaved or if he/she disturbs other guests by barking, the inn does have the right to ask the owners to kennel their dog or leave. No refunds will be offered.
• Sorry, but due to the large number of allergic humans, we are unable to accept cats.
