A Governor's Inn Bed & Breakfast

To return to the days of Victorian grace and charm is as easy as stepping inside A Governor's Inn, "Buckhannon's Historic Bed & Breakfast".

The century old red brick mansion was built by the second governor of West Virginia, D.D.T. Farnsworth. The stately gentleman spared no expense and no detail was overlooked in the family home for his wife and fifteen children. The flames from the fireplace in the main foyer cast a glow on the hand carved staircase which leads to the guest rooms and beckons visitors to cuddle in overstuffed chairs with their favorite books.

The warm atmosphere also encourages guests to wrap themselves in the Inn's luxurious robes while sipping flavored coffees and later to drift into a wonderful night of dreams in European down featherbeds.

A Governor's Inn is located within a block's walk of Buckhannon and just a 10-minute stroll from West Virginia Wesleyan College.

This graceful home features six tastefully decorated guest rooms, each with air conditioning, TV and full-sized bed.

A wonderful gourmet breakfast will be served each morning in the Inn's formal dining room. Delicacies such as caramel french toast, tasty casseroles, seasonal drinks and the Inn's famous Bread Pudding with Amaretto Sauce await our guests. Delectable desserts and flavored coffees are offered each evening for those visitors with that undeniable sweet tooth.

Romantic "packages" are available with sufficient notice. Small luncheons and dinners are also available for special events. Our staff can assist, as well, with your wedding party, making them feel "at home" during that blessed event.

From I-79, take Exit 99 and follow Rt. 33 East for approximately 12 miles. Take Main St. Exit and travel through four traffic lights. Inn is the third house on the left.

From Rt. 33 traveling west, take Rt. 20 Exit, turn left. At traffic light turn left, travel through three traffic lights. Inn is the third house on the left.
