The Villa at Little Cape Horn - Cathlamet, WashingtonOnce you have entered The Villa at Little Cape Horn, your life transforms to a slower pace, your guest room overlooks the Columbia River where you can watch the wildlife and river traffic. Imagine from your room you can open the Villa Style window and let the world into your life. As you sip your coffee in the morning you can watch the osprey teach their chicks to feed, deer drink from the river and ships from all over the world journey to Portland, the second largest port on the west coast. Your room is 80 feet above the river and you can enjoy the mountains in Oregon, along with the windsurfers zipping back and forth as the river is about 1 mile wide at the villa.

We have over two miles of sandy beach for you to stroll, and experience the wildlife close-up. As the tide goes out you can actually explore the giant Little Cape Horn Rock. This historic rock extends into the River and has been used by sailors for years as a navigation point. Fish, swim, windsurf, stroll the beach at sunset or just sit back and let the world pass by you.

Cathlamet is the second oldest town in Washington and there are many interesting historic sites to visit. The County Museum displays a "buy-boat", a boat that once purchased salmon from gillnetters on the lower Columbia River and also a Shay locomotive used in the logging industry.

Downtown Cathlamet is within easy walking distance to a secluded, protected harbor and full-service marina at the mouth of the Elochoman River where boats launch for salmon and sturgeon fishing on the Lower Columbia River and yachts and fishing boats can moor overnight.

Take some time to explore Cathlamet! Visit an art gallery, browse gift and antique shops, or relax in the local restaurants.

Birdwatching, bicycling and discovering quaint churches and other older buildings are just some of the many relaxing pastimes on Puget Island, just across the bridge from Cathlamet on Highway 409 where a toll ferry crosses into Oregon.

There's so much to do, with plenty of regional events throughout the year!
