  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Staci Addison for sharing her own secrets with BBOnline.com!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

Most travelers stay at our inn for romance, quiet, relaxation and uninterrupted time with their traveling companion.

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

We are best known for the attention to detail before a guest arrives, making sure every detail is handled to their expectation long before they ever step foot on the property. Whether it is a dinner reservation procured, roses and champagne placed in the cabin when the guests are out to dinner or the warm, homemade chocolate chip cookies we serve every afternoon, we strive to make the guest experience perfect. We boast 10 private cabins for the utmost in privacy. Guests rarely interact with other guests unless they set out to. Our property is romantic and designed for the perfect couple getaway. I love the beauty that surrounds our inn. It is nestled in the Cascade Mountains and is such a beautiful place!

If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

The number 1 reason to come to Carson would be to stay with us! Carson is an unincorporated town that is quiet yet right in the middle of the Columbia River Gorge - a highly desirable destination. Water sports and high adventure abounds - white water rafting, skiing, water falls, wineries and brew pubs are all here waiting to be explored.

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

We hosted guests from England this past fall and they just booked a stay with us for a return visit this summer. When guests return to the property again and again their actions speak louder than any words they could say.

What’s the best kept secret about the area?

How easy it is to find something for everyone to enjoy - no matter what your tastes are. This place is beautiful, tranquil, exhilarating and thrilling all at the same time!

If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

We have a list of "101 Things To Do" that many of our guests refer to. Wine tasting is very popular as is hiking to waterfalls, whitewater rafting, sledding in the winter months, skiing at Mt Hood, brew pub hunting, Sasquatch hunting, music festivals, lavender farms, alpaca farms, fruit farms and the list goes on and on and on!

Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

There is a FABULOUS brew pub called Backwoods that serves up hearty, hot pizza and their own brew! There is also a nice antique store on the corner.

What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

We do not lack in the fabulous food department! Some of my favorites are Solstice Wood Fire Cafe, Nora's Table, Stonehedge Gardens and River Daze Cafe. Two very popular places in the area are Big River Grill and Walking Man Brewery. Come hungry!

Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?

I really like to personally help plan guest outings whenever possible. By talking to the guests I can help gauge their enthusiasm and abilities. The Hood River Chamber of Commerce and the Skamania County Chamber of Commerce are both great sites for things happening in the Gorge. For forest information the Forestry Service Department website can't be beat.

How many rooms does your inn have?

We have 10 private cottages. Seven are romantic featuring queen or king size beds, gas fire places and jacuzzi tubs. Three of the cabins are ultimate luxurious cabins featuring an open floor plan, vaulted ceilings, hydrotherapy spa tubs, big gas fireplaces and views that are gorgeous!

    Do you accept pets?

We welcome well behaved, socialized pets on our property with open arms! Two of our cabins, Northern Territory and Knotty Pine cabins.
