    Master BedroomThe Riddick House

    This exquisitely adorned 1812 Plantation Home offers 2 guest rooms with private baths, full kitchen and dining room, multiple lounging areas and back deck. There are fireplaces in the kitchen, dining room and both guest rooms. Entertaining is strictly prohibited. The Master bedroom boasts a King bed, flat-screen television, jet tub, walk-in ceramic tiled shower, heated towel racks and a view of the pond. The Guest room which is located in between the Master bedroom and Library has a Queen bed, walk-in ceramic tiled shower, heated towel racks and views of the woods that surround the Riddick House. Each room has a maximum occupancy of 2 guests. Stow-away beds can be brought in for up to 2 guests for an additional charge. The total maximum occupancy is 6 persons. The 5000 ft² Riddick House may be rented out for intimate events of 100 guests or fewer, but will be overseen by our event coordinator.

    Guest Room Originally the main house on Hare Plantation, a 150-acre cotton field in Hertford, North Carolina, this Greek Rival timber frame structure was moved to Spotsylvania before it was torn down. It took almost three years from deconstruction through restoration. Hare Plantation was named after Edward Hare, the Representative of Hertford County from 1768-1772. In 1971 the home was nominated for the National Historic Registry. The project was covered in the Free Lance-Star in a 3-part series.

    Loft Bedroom

    The Servants Quarter

    Take a journey back in time while staying in this 1850's structure that was once the home to servants of the White Oak Plantation in Greene County, Virginia. This one bedroom rustic lodging 2 twin beds and is ideal for history enthusiasts. A wood-burning fireplace adorns the downstairs, while the sleeping quarters are in the loft above. Decorated in period furnishings as well as an open air (no door) bathroom, visitors will get a more intimate look at our Country's history. While visiting, take a tour of our extensive Civil War trenches within walking distance from your quarters. There is a 2 person maximum occupancy.$120/night


    Master BedroomThe Log Home

    If you are looking for a romantic get-a-way or relaxing weekend, The Log Home at Stevenson Ridge is perfect for you. This 1830's home offers 2 bedrooms (master and loft), 1.5 baths, kitchenette/dining room, living room and four wood-burning fireplaces. The kitchenette has a mini-fridge, coffee maker and toaster oven. There are no televisions or telephones, sure to bring a good book to read in front of the fireplace or in one of the rocking chairs on the front porch over-looking the pond. Each room has a 2 person maximum occupancy. Stow-away beds can be brought in for up to 2 more guests for an additional charge. The home has a total maximum occupancy of 6 guests.

    The Civil War House

    This 1800 ft² antique home is befitting for a couple, small family or extended stay*. The home includes a Master room with Queen bed and Loft with Full bed, 1 full bath, complete kitchen, dining room with a wood-burning fireplace and lounging deck. The master bedroom boasts a gas fireplace. There is a 2 person maximum per room. Stow-away beds can be brought in for up to 2 more guests for an additional charge. The maximum number of guests for the entire house is 6 persons.

    The Civil War House, built in the mid to late 1800's, was the main home at Stevenson Ridge until the property was purchased by its current owners in 2001. An addition that was constructed in the 1950's was removed in 2001 in order to restore the home to its original condition. The home also boasts its original wood flooring!


    The Corn Crib

    This renovated corn shed mimics a studio apartment adorned with ceramic tile, bright hues and a wood-burning fireplace. The kitchenette, breakfast nook and comfortable living space will make this your home away from home! The Corn Crib is also completely handicap accessible. There is a 2 person maximum occupancy. $125/night

  • Accommodations

    The Inn at Stevenson Ridge consists of five historical homes dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Each home is rented out to one family/group at a time. Pricing is based on whether 1 or 2 bedrooms are to be included in the rental. All houses are equipped with a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave/toaster. All but the Log Home and Servants Quarters have a television and DVD player. Some of the homes are outfitted with a complete kitchen, making it a wonderful option for extended vacation.

    Breakfast is NOT included in the price of lodging. However, a Breakfast Basket of fresh foods and beverages is available at an additional charge and will be delivered to your door. Items that you may find in your basket are scones/pastries, warm biscuits with homemade jam, quiche, yogurt or fresh fruit. Guests will have a selection of beverages to choose from.     Dan and Debbie Spear, local prominent residential builders, purchased the property in the summer of 2000. In his spare time, Dan has restored a few small antique buildings located on the property as well as moved one large 1812 plantation home from Como, North Carolina. With Dan's passion for restoring antique structures and Debbie's love of entertaining, they conceived the idea of offering these beautiful historic homes as lodging to tourists and other guests.     • Extended stay rates are different.
    • Cancellation: If cancellation occurs within 1 to 5 days before scheduled arrival, 50% of room rate will be charged to the guests credit card. If cancellation is made the day of arrival, the total amount will be charged to the guests credit card. *If the guest reschedules for a date within 1 month of the canceled date, the guest is only charged a rescheduling fee of $40.
