    The Pathfinder SuiteLuxurious modern amenities accentuate the historic charm of our Richmond inn, Maury Place at Monument. Our lodging accommodations consist of four bright and spacious guest suites featuring beautiful maple floors, original fireplaces, flat-screen televisions, seating areas, and recently updated en suite bathrooms. Two suites feature private balconies, and three have gas fireplaces. Guest rooms are located on the second floor, and are not handicapped accessible.
     
    The Pathfinder Suite
    For an alternative to a luxury hotel in Richmond, Virginia, enjoy the elegant accommodations in this suite named in honor of Matthew Fontaine Maury, “The Pathfinder of the Seas,” whose monument the suite overlooks. This spacious 600 square foot suite is the only guestroom in Richmond overlooking the famous Monument Avenue. As Maury Place’s largest suite, the north-facing room extends across the entire front of the house on the second floor with glorious light, original maple floors covered by oriental carpets, and spectacular views of Monument Avenue. The Pathfinder Suite, perfect for a honeymoon or getaway vacation, features a king-size bed, a 42-inch, flat-screen high definition television, a seating area in front of the original fireplace, and special seating in the bay window overlooking the Maury Monument. Pamper yourself with special in room add-ons such as an in room massage or romance package.  The large en suite bath has a heated tile floor, brand new deluxe multi-nozzle rain shower, a separate soaking tub original to Maury Place, and a beautiful large pedestal sink that is also original to the house. In addition, French doors open to a spacious private balcony that spans the width of the house, and looks out over Monument Avenue and the Maury Monument. Pathfinder is one of two Maury Place suites, along with the Belmont Suite, that offers guests their own private balcony. $269 to $289

    The Fontaine Suite
    Make reservations for a weekend getaway in Virginia in this spacious, light suite named for the Fontaine heritage of Matthew Fontaine Maury. This spacious 465 square foot suite has two separate rooms and a distinct French influence in its décor. The first room is a large sitting area with comfortable seating and features a 36-inch, flat-screen television. In the large adjoining bedroom, you will enjoy luxurious linens on the exquisite wood-carved queen-size bed. The bed is in view of the fireplace, which has gas coals and original mantel with tile surround. One wall of this room on the east side of the house is almost entirely windows that provide wonderful light throughout the day. The brand new bathroom adjoining the sitting room has a tub and shower combination. There is also a 42-inch, flat-screen high definition television above the fireplace. The gleaming maple floors are covered by an antique needlepoint rug. This two-room B&B suite is perfect for a romantic getaway or for the discerning traveler seeking an elegant lodging experience that is distinctly unique and a welcome alternative to hotel accommodations. $229 - $249

    The Belmont Suite
    This spacious corner suite in the southeast corner of the house bordering Belmont Avenue is welcoming and cheerful and a fine choice for a Virginia vacation or a weekend getaway. It has huge windows on three of its walls that provide great light throughout the day. The Belmont Suite has two single beds and offers peaceful relaxation and beautiful views of the garden from a private balcony for two. This is one of only two private balconies at Maury Place and the only balcony overlooking the garden and pool. The bedroom has a 36-inch, flat-screen high definition television and original woodwork, light fixtures, and maple floors covered with oriental carpets. The newly tiled en suite bathroom is original to Maury Place, but it has been updated with a heated tile floor and a new walk-in shower. This bathroom also features an unusual corner sink that is original to this room, and a beautiful historic stained glass window. The Belmont Suite is perfect for companion travelers who want to share the beauty and relaxation of lodging in an elegant historic property. $179 - $199

    Addie's Suite
    Reserve this charming, airy suite for your Virginia accommodations. It is named for Addie Sturdivant, the woman for whom Maury Place in Richmond was built in 1916.
    The crisp pale green and white décor of this suite takes its cues from the natural beauty outside its windows. It is perpetually spring in this corner getaway suite on the southwest corner of the house, and it has wonderful views of the garden and of the huge magnolias in the backyard. The full-size bed is placed directly across from the original fireplace, which has gas coals and its original mantel and tile surround. Like all of the lodging accommodations in Maury Place, this room has original light fixtures and original maple floors. It also has a 36-inch, flat-screen high definition television.
    The adjoining newly-tiled bathroom is original to Maury Place, but it has been updated for 21st century comfort. The bathroom features a heated tile floor, a deluxe walk-in shower, and the original pedestal sink. Romantic and comfortable, Addie’s Suite is perfect for anyone who wants to escape to a simpler, more refined and elegant world. $189 - $209

    Making a Reservation: Reservations for lodging at Maury Place, our Virginia bed and breakfast, may be made over the phone (804-353-2717) or online. We require a credit card to confirm and book the reservation.  Registered guests must be at least 21 years old.
    Check-in and Check-out: Check-in time is between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. If you are arriving outside of those times, a later check-in time may be arranged by phone with the innkeeper. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. daily. Payment is due upon check out. We accept cash, Travelers’ checks, personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
    Standard Cancellation Policy: Maury Place is an exclusive property where every guest reservation is both important and special to us.
    If your travel plans to Richmond, VA change and you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least 14 days prior to your arrival to cancel your reservation. Holidays and local special event dates require 30-days notice for cancellation. When the entire house is rented for one party, 60-days notice is required for cancellation. No shows, early check-outs, or less than the above notices will result in full charge of your scheduled stay unless we are able to re-book the suite for those dates. Maury Place will make every effort to re-book the room so the customer can avoid this charge.
    Special Cancellation Policy: Our cancellation policy may change at any time for any reason at the innkeepers’ discretion. Typically, our cancellation policy will only change for special promotions, holiday weekends, or other special events.
    Breakfast: Maury Place serves a full breakfast each morning in the dining room from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. We can accommodate earlier breakfast times with advanced notice. We can also provide a breakfast to go at your request.
    Smoking: For the health and comfort of our guests, no smoking is permitted on the Maury Place property. Guests will be charged a $250 cleaning fee for smoking indoors.
    Minimum Stay: Weekend stays require a two day minimum. From time to time, we may require minimum stays on other nights, such as holidays or dates around special events.
    Children: Children 16 years old and older are welcome.
    Pets: Because we have our own two dogs on the property, no other pets are permitted.
    Handicap Accessibility: Our guest rooms are located on the second floor, and are not handicapped accessbile.
    Business Hours: Business hours for reservations are 9:00 am to 9:00 pm EST.
