The Woodrow Wilson suite has just been restored to its original condition with color coordinated period drapes, bedspread, matching furniture, and Wilson memorabilia. The suite, which is accessed by a beautiful walnut main stair hall, has tall windows providing breathtaking views of Smith Creek on one side and the mountains on the other. It is "very presidential." Joseph Salyard Cottage
Restoration of the Joseph Salyard Cottage--named after one of Virginia's most eminent teachers and scholars who taught at Rosendale in the 1860s was completed in 2005. Its elegant interior and welcoming warmth, combined with a private bath, kitchen, and real wood burning fireplace makes it irresistible. Its perfect newlyweds. Sleeps 2

The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Suite
Read a book and soak in the original claw foot tub in your bedroom, or relax in our bath lounge with its double shower and four person state of the art sauna (operational in winter) . This restored (2008) suite as part of the "FDR living history project" features two rooms with rich walnut and oak trim, a fireplace, period furniture, and FDR memorabilia. A 1933 Rosendale Presidential luncheon list hangs in the suite. The suite is on the first floor and has a private entrance. Sleeps 4

The James Madison Suite
The James Madison ( 1817-1825) suite is the original second floor bedrooms of the 1790 log cabin. It consists of two large rooms with the original heart pine flooring and exposed beam ceiling. It boasts a king size bed, a queen bed, an antique child's rope bed, child's dresser, and a private bath. This is an ideal family room. Sleeps 5

The Andrew Jackson Suite
Restoration of the Andrew Jackson suite was completed on 1 April 2008, with period swag curtains, matching chairs, and brass beds (queen and single). The large room boasts a fireplace hearth, private entrance and bath, and opens up to a second floor 40' veranda which provides spectacular pastoral views, cool breezes during the day, and the perfect observatory for the starry southern sky at night. Policies (Please Read Carefully)
All suites at our Shenandoah Valley Bed and Breakfast are large and spacious, some with 11 foot ceilings. Many have fireplaces, and all have a large private bath. Each suite is named after a president. All suites are decorated with authentic antique period furnishing, except for the beds which are double, king, and queen size. Rosendale Inn is an ideal place for your Virginia Shenandoah Valley Lodging.
- You may make a reservation either by (1) calling us directly at 540-740-4281 or (2) making the "Webervation" reservation on-line.
- Suite rates are posted on the "Accomodations" page of the Rosendaleinn.com website.
- Note that the rate is based on "double occupancy." There is no additional fee for a child under 8-years-of-age. A fee of $25 is required for children 8-17, and $40 for any person over the age of 17.
- All holidays which fall on a weekend or a "three day weekend" require a minimum two night booking. We accept single day reservations at all other times.
- Any booking that is made for three days requires a 50% deposit made by personal check, cashiers check, or money order which must be received within two weeks of making the reservation. Bookings for any longer period require full payment in advance.
- Bookings for two or more suites require a 50% deposit to be made by personal check, cashiers check, or money order. The deposit must be received within two weeks of making the reservation.
- JMU Graduation and Parent's Day Weekend Bookings: Special events like JMU graduation and "Parents Day" weekend require "full suite capacity" bookings, a minimum two day stay, and a non-refundable advance payment. What do we mean by "full suite capacity"? Since there is a high demand by families with children for suites which sleep three to four people, we like to reserve these suites for families of three or more. Please note that advance payment must be made by personal check, cashiers check, or money order and must be received within two weeks of making the reservation. This payment is non-refundable. Bookings for JMU graduation begin to be made at least a year in advance, and for Parents' Day weekend at least six months in advance.
- Cancellation Policy: We have a 10 day cancellation policy. You must call (540) 740-4281 and let us know if you have to cancel, but please do so at least 10 days prior to the date of your reservation. We are unable to accept E-mail cancellations. Guests who fail to show up will be responsible for the full amount due for the number of days they have reserved, and the credit card will be charged accordingly. JMU and others special events, as well Holiday weekend deposits are NON REFUNDABLE. If an emergency comes up or the weather prevents your arrival we will issue a gift certificate (rain check) which is good for a period of one year.
- We accept a valid credit card to make the reservation, but ask that you make payment by personal check, travelers check, or cash when you arrive and check in. Please note that full payment for your stay (minus any deposit you have made) is always made at time of check in.
- Check in time is anytime between 3 to 9 pm. If you plan to arrive after 9 pm please call and let us know.
