  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Chris and Susan Johnston for sharing their own secrets with BBOnline.com!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

Most travelers stay at our inn because they want privacy, they are passing through the area, and they want to see tourist attractions that the area offers.

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

We are best known for our privacy and seclusion. We are surrounded by forest, wildlife, and beautiful mountain views. We are totally private on a mountainside at the end of a country road and yet 90 seconds from Route 29.

If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

Charlottesville's premier attraction is UVA, followed by Monticello.

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

Our best compliments are our cleanliness, roominess, and our filling breakfasts. Our elevated porch with mountain views is an attractive place to eat breakfast.

What’s the best kept secret about the area?

The three breweries are the best secret in the area.

If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

Someone staying for four days could visit Monticello, UVA, Wintergreen, James River, Crabtree Falls, and Appomattox. They could drive the skyline drive, ski at Wintergreen, canoe down the James River, visit Scottsville, and go ballooning at Boars Head. They could eat and drink at three local breweries, visit many wineries, attend UVA games, concerts, hike the mountain we are located on. They could visit Oak Ridge estate, Swannanoa, and Yogaville.

Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

There is very little within walking distance. We are located on a mountainside 1 1/2 miles from the highway.

What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

Blue Ridge brewery is our favorite restaurant in the area.

Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?

Everything mentioned in number six has websites linked on our website.

How many rooms does your inn have?

Our inn is a two-bedroom suite with a full kitchen, large living room with a flat screen TV, and a private four person Jacuzzi outside your door. When you rent, you rent the entire suite for yourself. Whether you are one person or six, the suite is your private apartment.

    Do you accept pets?

We do not accept pets, we have no suggestions for alternatives.
