As our nation approaches the Sesquicentennial Observation of the start of the Civil War, The Inn at Meander Plantations Civil War Package offers a local insight into those turbulent times. The Inn is only a few miles from Cedar Mountain site of one of the Wars largest and most fierce cavalry battles where a newly-developed walking tour offers information about the battlefield. When you arrive at the Inn you'll choose from the many possible sites for your ceremony and check into your elegant accommodation. We'll take care of everything else. We'll make arrangements for a wedding officiate licensed in Virginia to perform your ceremony including a bouquet for the bride (roses and/or fresh flowers with ribbon wrapped stems) and a boutonniere for the groom. Then your reception will include a beautiful linen covered table with a white wedding cake for two, flowers, a silver champagne bucket with a bottle of champagne and two flutes from which to toast your lovely day. Then after you've rested, our fantastic 5-course candlelight dinner will be served at 7 p.m. You'll spend the night in a lovely guestroom and then awake to a full breakfast the next morning. To finish off the memories, we'll take photographs of your ceremony, the kiss, the toasts, the cake cutting, the two of you at dinner and other candid moments. We'll put these on CD for you. Start with a warm bath run for you in the privacy of your guestroom. We?ll light an aromatherapy candle, put on a specialty music CD, and sprinkle our bath rose petals around to delight you. Horseback Riding is available at a local farm just minutes from your Virginia wine country guestroom. At least 24 hours notice is required. $40 - price per person, payable to provider Hot air balloon rides are available leaving from The Inn at Meander Plantation. Morning and Evening rides leave the property, float for about an hour and a half, and touch down on a neighboring farm for the customary complementary champagne toast. 24 hours notice is required, and all flights are weather dependant. $175 - price per person, payable to provider
