Wild and Wonderful Bath County is a great trip from the Lodge, work in a hike, ''take the waters'' in an old Historic Spa- tour the grand Homestead Hotel. The Greenbrier Resort in W. Va is 1 hour 15 minutes away- take a tour of the ''Bunkers'' which were built to house our leadership and preserve Democracy in in the heat of the Cold War. Historic Lewisburg is a great small town nearby to explore. Civil War buffs can enjoy Appomattox- 1 hour 20 minutes away or several battlefield sites north. The Frontier Museum and Blackfriars Theatrein Staunton are only 30 minutes away, Staunton is a fun town to stroll around in with lots of nice restaurants. The National D-Day Memorial in Bedford can make a nice day trip as well as Poplar Forest, Jefferson's summer home, a miniature Monticello.

Lexington has several options for a nice romantic evening with a super meal. Several restaurants are walkable, the Nikkos Greek,Southern Inn, Sheridan Livery, Tuscany's Fine Italian, The Bistro , The Palms and Matsumoto Sushi Bar are a nice stroll only 10 minutes walk or 1 minute drive. Cafe Michels is only a 3 minute drive, all restaurants have nightly specials.
