This light and airy suite is ideal for a couple's retreat and opens onto both the back and side decks.  Decorated in tranquil tones, The Devon has a Heat-N-Glo fireplace and offers plenty of room to stretch out and relax.  Your TV is in an 18th century carved wooden hutch; just open the doors to enjoy a wide variety of satellite TV and music stations.  Your private bathroom has totally modern plumbing, lots of space to park your “stuff," a beautiful antique sink cabinet, and we provide a bottle of bubble bath, so you can enjoy a relaxing soak (there's a shower, too!).

One of our guests' favorites is the Cornwall Suite:  A short walk up the outside stairway brings you to this suite's private deck overlooking our pastures, walking trails, garden ponds, and the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Inside, admire the views from this second-story room, turn on your Heat-N-Glo fireplace, and relax! This spacious suite offers a beautiful queen sleigh bed and warm random-width pine walls.  Lots of special touches will make you feel pampered:  a small refrigerator with ice, sodas, glasses, even a corkscrew tucked into a corner of the large closet, a Satellite TV/Radio is right in your room, and the bathroom is stocked with large, fluffy towels, bubble bath, and a hair dryer.

This suite is the only room entering from the second floor balcony overlooking the living room's massive stone fireplace (to provide complete privacy, you can close and lock the door between the balcony and your room). Admire panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, horse pastures and garden ponds (the picture above was taken from the Merrifield's window). The room's soothing white washed cottage furnishings complement the natural random width pine paneled private bath, and the antique oak display cabinet houses just a few of Sue's favorite Santas from her extensive collection.  Queen bed, private bath with shower, Satellite TV/Music and small refrigerator.

Heron’s Nest at Fox Hill B&B is a truly unique, comfortable, and private retreat perfect for romantic getaways in Virginia. Tucked into a separate wing of our main stable with views of the paddock and riding ring, this cottage suite provides the ultimate "get-away-from-it-all" experience, ideal for a Blue Ridge Mountain honeymoon. Done in rustic European style, it features a living room with cathedral ceiling and sliding glass doors leading to your own porch with private outside entrance, separate bedroom with queen bed, and full bath with shower.

P.S.:  Kids and families also love this cottage suite as it has plenty of room:  Mom & Dad have their own bedroom, the sofa bed in the living room is perfect for kids -- and friendly horses graze in a nearby paddock.

Since cottage suites have fully-equipped kitchens, they do not include breakfast.  The cottage suites are pet friendly. Dogs older than 6 months are welcome, with advance notice.

For your Blue Ridge family vacation, reserve this private, quiet, below-grade suite accessed via a private entrance down a sun-filled stairwell. Fox's Den is especially well suited for families: it's our largest and has two separate bedrooms (one with queen bed), private bath with shower, plus a sofa bed in the living room (best suited for kids). The fully-equipped kitchen even has a dishwasher—plus for Virginia family vacations at Fox Hill B&B. Four high windows let in plenty of light and sunshine, and two picnic tables in a shady spot are close by outside. Since cottage suites have fully-equipped kitchens, they do not include breakfast.  The cottages are pet friendly. Dogs older than 6 months are welcome, with advance notice.
