Meet The Innkeepers

Mark & Cherie Norris have lived in various locations around the world. Most recently, they were career missionaries to the Middle East. Mark is retired from the Fire Department and Cherie has a background in travel and tourism, with a career working with the Marriott Corporation.

Situated in a peaceful rural area of the Blue Ridge Mountains; close to restaurants, wineries, and the attractions of Charlottesville and Lynchburg, all Bed and Breakfast rooms feature pillow-top beds, soft-overstuffed pillows, and hand-made quilts. All rooms have private baths, free WiFi, HDTV, DVD players, satellite TV, air conditioning, and access to an extensive movie library. Select rooms have fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, wide-screen and HDTV televisions, and BluRay players.

Complimentary cold drinks, coffee, and freshly baked goodies are available 24-hours per day. A full country breakfast is served every morning and is guaranteed to be more than you can eat.

Part architectural masterpiece, part engineering marvel and part work of art. Poplar Forest is more than Thomas Jefferson’s personal retreat. It is the living embodiment of Jefferson’s genius: blending landscape and architecture, the first octagonal home in America is one of only two homes he designed and built for his own use.

No need to visit the big city in order to enjoy professional drama! The Hamner Theatre is now in its' fifth season of producing plays and performances to residents and visitors of Nelson County. wine country. For musical acts from the local Blue Ridge area, visit the Lovingston Opry. A complete evening of entertainment is available in an intimate setting.

Walton's Mountain

The Waltons is the story of a large close-knit family living in rural Virginia during the Depression. Creator Earl Hamner Jr. based the series on his own childhood. CBS a created a series based on the Walton family that debuted in 1972. The show received 37 Emmy nominations and took home 13 of the golden statuettes. You can now visit the Walton Mountain Museum while staying at the B&B.
