Welcome to Cedar Spring Inn & Spa, a comfortably luxurious Virginia bed and breakfast inn located on 36 scenic acres 11 miles north of Charlottesville and within 30 minutes of 10 wineries, Monticello and Montpelier, the University of Virginia and the Shenandoah National Park.
Sited at the top of a cedar-lined ridge, the Inn offers spectacular views of over 20 miles of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The floating morning mist and the brilliant evening sunsets provide an ever-changing mountain spectacle that will become your morning and evening entertainment. It will captivate you with its majesty.
Cedar Spring Inn & Spa was built in 2001 as an exclusive residence, and was expanded in 2004 to provide a private, luxurious retreat for up to five couples. Designed by a noted Charlottesville architect, the home is dramatic in its use of antique timbers and reused oily and heart pine. Sited to take full advantage of a spectacular western mountain panorama, the house dances with light all day thanks to the generous use of windows throughout.

Luxury and Hospitality
The five spacious guest rooms offer a selection of comforts: beautifully appointed King beds, baths with soaking or jetted tubs, romantic fireplaces, private patios, private entrances. All guests enjoy access to the pool and spa, sauna and steam room. The spacious common areas invite conversation, reading, playing a game or just relaxing. There is a massive stone fireplace both inside and out, with abundant decks and patios - all open to the spectacular view. Enjoy a special breakfast while feasting on the beauty of the countryside!
Majestic Surroundings
Views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and thirty-six acres of meadows and woodlands provide a backdrop to the architectural gem which will house your stay. The property delights and surprises - follow a spring-fed stream beneath ancient cedars past an 1840’s cabin to the North Fork of the Rivanna River. Lounge on your private patio or deck, sit by the pool and spa... the floating morning mist and the brilliant evening sunsets provide an ever-changing mountain spectacle. It will captivate you with its majesty.
Cedar Spring Inn & Spa is a Charlottesville bed and breakfast located 2.3 miles from Route 29 in the historic northern Albemarle County magistrate of Advance Mills. The Inn is convenient to a rich assortment of things to do and see. We are centrally located between three presidents’ homes: Monticello (Thomas Jefferson), Ash Lawn-Highland (James Monroe), and Montpelier (James Madison). The University of Virginia “Grounds” (the local term meaning “campus”) begins just 20 minutes South on Rt. 29. There are nine wineries within 20 miles and 5 antique shops or “malls” within 10 miles. You can enter the Shenandoah National Park and drive Skyline Drive in 20 minutes, or in about the same time you can be horseback riding or hot air ballooning or play a round of golf. The Charlottesville area is also known for its exceptional dining options, and there are restaurants of all types as close as 10 minutes away.

For entertainment, check out the schedule at the John Paul Jones Arena, the Paramount Theater or some of the other options listed on our Activities Page.
For out-of-state and business visitors we are about 7 miles from the Charlottesville Albemarle Airport and about 4 miles from General Electric Fanuc and the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC). We are about 5 miles from the University of Virginia Research Park where PRA International, MicroAire Surgical Instruments and Biotage are located.
Come and relax on the property. Our pool is open April 1st through mid December (heated April through mid October). The hot tub, steam room and sauna are available year-round. You can hike on the property or jog near Advance Mills or simply use the tread mill or Bowflex® in our exercise room. Schedule a massage, read a book, watch a movie, picnic in the woods … on the banks of the river … at the 1840’s cabin overlooking the stream.
All of our rooms feature King beds with luxury linens, individual climate control, fireplace, TV/DVD, telephone, hair dryer, iron with board, complimentary stocked beverage refrigerator. Most rooms have a private deck or patio and private entrance. The property also offers complimentary high-speed wireless internet access.
Come, relax in this architectural light-filled gem, your home away from home. Enjoy the peace and beauty of the property . . . and leave with the memory of an experience. -
