    Innkeepers Orquida and Dan Ingraham welcome you to their 1848 Victorian farmhouse in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, featuring numerous antiques, original heart pine floors and staircase, and a stained-glass entrance way. In addition to wireless internet access, all 5 guest rooms at Afton Mountain offer private baths, air conditioning, and luxurious beds for your maximum comfort.

    In the morning, you'll wake to enjoy a delicious breakfast, beginning with homemade baked goods, fresh fruit, coffee (certified fair trade & organic), tea, and juices, and topped off by one of our entree specialties, featuring dishes made with local, free-range eggs. After a day of sightseeing on Skyline Drive or the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking, or wine tasting, take a relaxing swim in our pool, enjoy some fresh-baked cookies and a beverage, or catch up on your reading on one of our large porches.

    Our five unique guest rooms offer the perfect place to unwind from the stress of life and rest after a day of activities. For your convenience and comfort, all of our guest rooms are air-conditioned, and include ceiling fans, AM/FM Stereo CD players, and hair dryers. The house is equipped with wireless internet, and we have a computer available for guest use in the living room. XM Satellite Radio is available in the Jefferson, Goodwin, and Shenandoah rooms.

    Standard Check-in time is between 3-8PM. If you expect to arrive later than 8PM, please let us know when we can expect you. Early check-ins may be accommodated with advance notice. Check-out is anytime prior to 11AM. Reservations are secured by credit card. The full amount of the reservation will be charged at check-out.

    Cancellation: 14 days or more advance notice is required (30 days for Peak Season/Holiday reservations). Cancellations made without sufficient notice are subject to a charge equal to 50% of the room rate (or 10% if we are able to re-book the room), or a gift certificate equal to the full room rate. If you have any questions regarding our cancellation policy, please ask.

    Room rates are based on Double Occupancy.  The additional charge for third person in a room is $25.00 per night.  Virginia Sales tax of 5% and Nelson County Lodging tax of 5% applies to all guest stays

    As a courtesy to our guests, there is no smoking inside the residence. Smoking is allowed on the outdoor porches.

    We have two standard discounts* available to our guests: all stays of three (3) or more consecutive nights in the same room receive a 10% discount; and guests who arrive in a hybrid or fuel efficient vehicle (one with an average MPG rating of 30 or higher according to fueleconomy.gov) qualify for a 10% discount on any weekend (Fri-Sun) stay.

    *Discount requests must be made at time of reservation and may not be combined with any other discount or package offer.

    We welcome well-behaved children of all ages. Roll-away beds are available if you have a child who you wish to have sleep in your room. We also have a crib available on request.

    We are sorry that we cannot accept pets. We currently have two dogs of our own that are not allowed in any of the guests areas.
