Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Dan & Orquida Ingraham for sharing their own secrets with BBOnline.com! Why do most travelers stay at your inn?
Many of our guests come to experience the fantastic wineries and craft breweries that surround us. Others come to visit Jefferson's Monticello and the University of Virginia in nearby Charlottesville. And then we have the more adventurous guests looking to explore the great sites up on the Blue Ridge Parkway or Skyline Drive.
What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?
Location! Not only are we easy driving distance from DC, Richmond, Hampton Roads, etc., we're situated right in the middle of so many things to see and do.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?
We are definitely not in a city, so the best reason to visit is to escape the traffic, noise, and stress of city life. Once you're here, you can relax and enjoy all the area has to offer.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?
We receive quite a few compliments, but the best compliment is when someone refers family or friends to stay with us, or comes back for a return visit.
What’s the best kept secret about the area?
Although the secret is starting to get out, many people still don't realize that we have so many craft breweries here. And they are all completely unique, which makes the experience even better.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?
Guests can spend 1 or 2 days visiting area wineries and breweries. We definitely would recommend visiting Monticello, taking the house and gardens tours and visiting their spectacular interactive museum. When the weather is good, we suggest a trip up on the Blue Ridge Parkway and a hike to Crabtree Falls or Humpback Rocks.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?
We're out in the country, so there's nothing of note within walking distance. But the wineries and breweries are just a short car ride away (starting at 1 mile).
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?
We're fortunate to have three craft breweries close to us, each with a great restaurant. You can't go wrong with great beer and great food.
Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference? How many rooms does your inn have?
We have 5 guest rooms.
Do you accept pets?
We do not accept pets.
