A Warm Welcome Awaits YouWelcome To Our Home

Our Inn is an early 20th century English Country style home located in Abingdon, Virginia's historic district. Centrally air-conditioned with individually zoned guest rooms, this finely preserved home has been totally updated and renovated both inside and out. Having sustained numerous additions over the years, we are confidently ushering our home into the Twenty-First Century while maintaining its structural integrity.

    Make Yourself Comfortable

    Make Yourself Comfortable

Though most of the furnishings are English or American antiques, there is a compelling mix of periods. Many of the pieces are museum worthy: An Eighteenth Century Norwegian upholstered chair and a Nineteenth Century Biedermeier secretary share space with Picasso lithographs and Russian Iconistry. The collection spans centuries and countries of origin yet reflects a consistent refined aesthetic. Real style is best when understated. We know it when we see it. When we walk into rooms that have it, there is a presence... or perhaps an intentional absence that satisfies us from within... It's exactly what we expect from a bed and breakfast.

    Sit By The Koi Pond

    Relax Outdoors

One of the porches has been transformed into an Outdoor Room, complete with antique wicker furniture and paddle fans. Guests enjoy watching the large colorful koi that inhabit the pond. A waterfall provides the perfect backdrop for relaxation. This room becomes enclosed in glass during the winter months, making it the perfect spot for putting up one's feet or even taking a nap! Stroll through the brick-paved courtyard to the Gazebo and enjoy the various garden rooms. A garden train completes the lush look, as it winds through the plants and antique statues along the path.

    Beautiful Dining Room

     Good Morning

In the morning, you will awaken to a home-cooked breakfast -- a cuisine of homemade recipes and fresh foods served on antique bone china with crystal goblets and sterling silver flatware. Always served in front of the main fireplace, candlelight illuminates the hand-painted wall murals in our formal dining room. Freshly ground coffee, a large selection of fine teas, seasonal fruits, and juices accompany the hot entree.

A Warm Welcome Awaits You"During this trip to the U.S. I have stayed in 27 B&Bs, thus far yours is by far the BEST in terms of comfort & class as well as friendliness of hosts." ~ Sue S., Sydney, Australia

"You live up to your reputation; Elegant, Comfortable, Attention to detail, & unmatched hospitality. We have stayed in many b&b inns, and this is one of the best." ~ Van & Gen, Temple City, CA

"We visit Abingdon often, and your B&B really is the jewel in the crown which outshines them all - you're a true 5 star!" ~ R.G., Charlotte, NC

"This is a lovely, lovely home; the porch was an excellent place to sit, meditate, converse & totally relax. You have made this B&B into a marvelous place." ~ Ray & Joanne, Nashville, TN

"Paulette and Michael, We wanted to send our sincerest thanks for a lovely stay in your house. Everything was first rate: chocolates, the quiet, the king bed, Henry, most delicious breakfasts and great company. Yours truly is the standard for other inns. Our single regret was that we planned too much time away from the property. We promise to slow down on our next visit. Many thanks again for a wonderful memory with friends." ~ Peter and Cathy, Knoxville, TN

"Dear Paulette & Michael, We had a great time in Abingdon, especially enjoyed our stay with you. The Peppermill & Starving Artist were perfect, thanks. P.S. Great suggestion from Michael to try the Creeper Trail from Abingdon to Damascus. We have done Whitetop to Damascus many times and found the Abingdon to Damascus section just as enjoyable.... Great breakfasts both days....Thanks for hiding the eggs in the french toast....Hope we see you again soon!" ~ Brian & Janis-Charlotte, NC

"Dear Paulette and Michael, We had a delightful time while we were staying at your bed and breakfast last week. The number #1 rank which you received on a nationwide basis for affordable elegance is certainly well deserved. I don't believe we have ever stayed in a B&B that had all of the equipment and appointments and was decorated in such excellent taste. We were totally comfortable throughout our stay and the most important component was your thoughtfulness and congeniality. Paulette, I particularly am looking forward to trying the recipe for Dutch Apple Babys. They were delicious, and I hope that I may come close to matching your baking skill. If we are ever in the Abingdon area in the future, I can assure you that we will make every effort to renew our friendship and spend some time together."
