Most of our guests stay at our inn because of the high degree of personal service they receive while here. It is a cozy small bed and breakfast that makes most people feel as if they are at home away from home. Many guests are returning for their second or third time, and more times.

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?
The best compliment we have ever received was from a Boston couple. Deer Brook Inn was written up in the Boston Globe in 2006. This couple read the article and called to make a reservation for the following weekend stating that they had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before but because of the review in the paper they had to try us. We greeted them at the door and showed them around the inn. We had a great time at breakfast with them and as they left they shared with us that they had never felt so welcome and so much at home as they had at our inn. They went on to stay with us an additional 20 times and have become our very dear friends.
What’s the best kept secret about the area?
The best kept secret of our area of Vermont is that there is a network of ancient roads that zigzag across the region. These ancient roads can be hiked or snowmobiled in the winter. It is possible to actually snowmobile from the Canadian border to the Massachusetts border on these ancient roads and from New Hampshire to New York as well.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

Visit the local restaurants, taverns for a wide range of cuisines and live music.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?
Deer Brook Inn sits on 5 acres about 4 miles west of the village. Convenient to the village but not within walking distance. Because of our location we are centrally located between all things Woodstock and Killington Ski Center. Just minutes to the west is the Calvin Coolidge Homestead, a little historic gem. Not far is Okemo Mountain, the lovely village of Weston with its great summer theatre and the well reknowned Vermont Country Store.
