We offer you all of the classic New England accommodations and more modern suites in our serene Stowe, VT bed and breakfast. Here you have time to do what you want in stress free surroundings or enjoy attractions and activities near Stowe, Vermont. Water features throughout the main lodge with fountains and waterfalls that create a relaxing atmosphere.The inn has a great view of the Vermont mountains and offers an outdoor hot tub, sauna, pool, game room, restaurant, Wi-Fi access, private cinema and even campfires under the stars. The inn may be off the beaten path, but our bed and breakfast is near great places for biking, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, golfing, fishing, and birding.

We offer facilities for meetings and retreats for any business. Our cinema room conveniently converts into a meeting room that is perfect to pitch your business proposal to your managers. We offer the perfect setting for a family reunion which we can arrange and facilitate for you, with activities like pool parties, bar-be-ques, tennis, and dog sledding.Situated at one of the most photographed locations in Stowe, with a stunning sunrise vista, the main house is only 2.5 miles from Stowe Village and just minutes from skiing, shopping and more. A review of town records indicates the main house was built in 1836 by the Bigelow family. It became a Vermont Bed and Breakfast around 1950 just as skiing was taking hold in Stowe. In 1953 two cottages were built, one of which is available for rent today.
The Hill House Suites were built in 1986 to complete the property as it is today. These days the Main Lodge is decorated throughout with period antiques and unique offerings from around the world, so the common areas have a blend of old and new. The innkeepers have added touches to the lodge not found in other B&B's based on their experiences of living abroad. The dining area is classic elegance with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and soft relaxing music in the background. In the common areas of the Main Lodge, you will find woodcarvings of renowned artist AB Wilson. His exquisite carvings of birds will take your breath away. The beautiful hillside where the lodge is located is quiet and peaceful but has easy access to all tourist activities: downhill skiing, cross country skiing, bike paths, golf, restaurants and shopping. Many of our guests have told us our location is perfect, close to Stowe but far enough away to make you feel like you are in the country.
Breakfast at Ten Acres is a simple, yet fulfilling affair. We are committed to making sure no one goes away hungry. Imagine beignets from New Orleans, scrambled eggs cooked with cream, bacon that is apple wood smoked, freshly made granola and fruit. And of course, to go with French toast, one must always have Vermont Maple syrup (or as we call it, Vermont liquid gold!). You can also sample Ten Acres Hot Chocolate, a recipe made here at the lodge or our Cocoaccino (a combination of hot chocolate and coffee). And finally, we serve a unique blend of coffee from Louisiana. Accommodations feature high thread count sheets on our beds, private baths, LCD HDTV's, complimentary soap and shampoo, hair dryers, natural spectrum light bulbs and daily housekeeping service. Our rooms in the Hill House, in addition to the above amenities, feature bathrobes, coffee makers and wood burning fireplaces. All of our rooms have internet access via dial-up, or in our Main Lodge with wi-fi access. Wireless access is available in the common areas of Main Lodge as well. Surf the net, check email and stay in touch...only if you want to!
Our restaurant, called "Lagniappe", comes from a Cajun word referring to a Louisiana custom of providing guests "a little something extra". The restaurant is open Wed. - Sat. 5:30 - 8:30 PM. Extended open hours during peak seasons. Our dining room is one of the most famous and beloved in Stowe. We feature Cajun and Creole cuisine with both classic dishes and some creations of our own. Reservations are required. Ask us for details when you make your booking. You can also rent our dining room and kitchen and cater your own dinner event most days of the week. Our front desk is generally open from 7:30 AM to 7 PM. If you require assistance after hours (or if we are out and about doing chores), the innkeepers live on the property and are ready to help you when the need arrives. If you need to arrive after 7 PM, please let us know and we will make arrangements for a smooth check in. We are also ready to help you with ideas for things to do and to book tours, etc. Coffee/Tea and soft drinks are available all day and are free!
The Hill House has our home cinema, with a 9 foot screen, High definition Blu Ray player, 6.1 digital sound and hundreds of films to choose from. Children's features are shown allowing Mom and Dad to steal a little quiet time. Otherwise, feature films are shown in the evenings upon request. This is a great way to spend a relaxing evening or to do something different when the weather doesn't cooperate. Our two person sauna is perfect after a day on the slopes or a long hike in the mountains. Using state of the art technology developed by NASA, the sauna provides deep heat and relaxation never before encountered. Close to the Hill House is a tennis court you can use during your stay. While the court has the odd crack or two, it is certainly playable and enjoyed by many of our Vermont bed and breakfast guests.
Located in the Hill house to the back of the grounds is our outdoor Jacuzzi. With panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, imagine relaxing and enjoying this special experience...summer or winter! Our swimming pool is unique as it uses a salt generator to produce chlorine...making it organic in a way! The pool, which is heated, is nestled amongst the trees provide just the right setting for a relaxing summer afternoon. On select nights during the summer, a campfire is made for guests so marshmallows can be roasted, smores are consumed and perhaps a few songs are sung! Sorry, we can't provide the guitar player, but you can sing anyway!
