St J and the Estabrook House are the perfect place to rest and call home whether you are here for business or pleasure. Summer, fall, winter, and spring activities abound. Everything from festivals, cycling, hiking, foliage, skiing, and paddling, to bluegrass, jazz, classical music, art. architecture, and natural history.

Our St. Johnsbury B&B offers you a comfortable room with a cozy bed, comfy robes, hairdryer, and a sitting area. In the morning the dining room table is set for you to relax and enjoy a delicious full breakfast. The menu varies according to the day, the season, and the innkeepers outlook for the day.

Relax or socialize with old and new friends in the living room, family room, dining room, in front of the fire, or on one of the porches; borrow a book from the library or use the wireless internet access.

Cycle, ski, hike, paddle, golf, or take day trips to explore the the diversity of northern New England. At the end of the day unwind at the house or take a walk to visit the local shops downtown; mosey through our bookstore and relax with a cafe drink and snack; enjoy the galleries and independent films; listen to music that may be happening any day of the week.

Day passes are available for the Club at Old Mill. A state of the art fitness center that has a window wall view of the river and falls is just a 10 minute (aerobic) walk from the house or a two minute drive.

Less than a quarter of a mile off Rte 91, Estabrook House has easy access for travelers, yet is located in a quiet spot within walking distance of shopping, theaters, art galleries, restaurants and museums.

In keeping with the eclectic nature of the house, each guest room has its own unique personality - all equally comfortable and enjoyable. In each room is the coziness of robes, slippers, soft linens along with the convenience of a hair dryer and sitting area. All of the guest rooms at the Estabrook House are located on the second floor. Our guests have use of a family style bathroom that features an antique claw foot soaking tub for relaxing baths, as well as a separate shower.

Parkside

A queen size bed overlooks Arnold park through a large bay window with window seat. Stained glass transoms that top each bay delight the senses as the light changes with the seasons and the time of day.

Sunrise

Sunrise is a queen size room to be enjoyed for its morning light and view overlooking the St. J Hills.

Rose Room

An ornate Victorian full size bed suite is the focus of this room. However, the tall curved glass windows of the house's large front turret invite you to relax in the room's sitting area.

The Nook

2 Twins nestled on the East side of the house overlooking the St J Hills. A smaller quiet room that is just right for traveling friends or additional members of a family.

Juliet Room

A south facing room with original stained glass transoms and soft oriental rug offer comfortable color to this recently restored room with its king size bed and private bath.

Rates & Policies

• Parkside, Rose, and Sunrise room rate is $125 per night.
• The Nook room rate is $95 per night.
• Room rates do not include the 9% Vermont State meals and lodging tax.
• Check-in time is between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm*. Check-out time is by 11:00 am.
• If travel plans make this difficult you can arrange for a later check in time.*
• In order to guarantee a reservation, a deposit equal to fifty percent of your total stay is required. You may secure your room using a credit card for deposit which is processed at the time your reservation is made.
• Cancellation: If you should need to cancel or shorten your reservation, we will be glad to return your deposit, less a 10% processing fee, provided at least 21 days notice is given. With less than 21 days notice, your deposit, less fees, will be refunded when the room that was reserved for you is rebooked.
• We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover as settlement.
• There is a maximum accommodation of two persons per room.
• Children under 10 are welcome when one family or group reserves the B&B rooms. If you are traveling with younger children, please inquire to see if we can accommodate them.
• No guest pets. We have two resident cats that are generally restricted to the owner's space. (they have been known to break free and greet people)
• The Estabrook House is a non-smoking home.
