Framed by scenic mountains, our Montpelier Luxury Inn overlooks the village of Northfield, Norwich University, and the Sugarbush Mountain Peaks.

The Northfield Inn has been lovingly restored to its charming and romantic Victorian elegance and tastefully decorated with antiques, oriental rugs, beds of brass, beautiful carved wood and luxurious European down bedding.

Delicate accessories and interesting collections enhance the International ambiance and reflect the fond appreciation of its guests for the warm hospitality.

  • About Our Inn

For your comfort . . . Step back to an era of comfort and congeniality when people had time for afternoon tea and pleasant conversation. Our library, parlors, TV/video studio, fitness room, skiers' lounge and formal dining room, with fine music and a cozy fire, will warm your heart on those chilly evenings and lift your spirits anytime. Luxurious European feather bedding, delicate and romantic decor grace the guest accommodations. Antiques, beds of brass or beautifully carved wood accents, oriental rugs over hardware floors, traditional baths in-room or in the atrium all symphonize to fulfill the consummate Victorian experience.

For your appetite . . . We serve a hearty, old fashioned, multi-course formal breakfast with fine crystal and bone china. Fresh fruit, assorted hot and cold beverages, home-baked pastries and snacks are available throughout the day.

Relax and enjoy the panoramic views of the Green Mountains, scenic valleys, wildflower meadows, our peaceful woodland koi pond retreat, and our antique apple orchard at blossom time. Stroll through our historic district to the charming village and winding river with five covered bridges, or hike uphill to explore the Old Slate Quarry and mountain trails. Savor the serenity of rockers on our porches, lovely gardens, birdsongs, wind chimes, gentle breezes, and experience the golden sunsets that bathe the Northfield hillside.
