Framed by scenic mountains, our Montpelier Luxury Inn overlooks the village of Northfield, Norwich University, and the Sugarbush Mountain Peaks. The Northfield Inn has been lovingly restored to its charming and romantic Victorian elegance and tastefully decorated with antiques, oriental rugs, beds of brass, beautiful carved wood and luxurious European down bedding.

Fresh fruit, assorted hot and cold beverages, home-baked pastries and snacks are available throughout the day. Relax and enjoy the panoramic views of the Green Mountains, scenic valleys, wildflower meadows, our peaceful woodland koi pond retreat, and our antique apple orchard at blossom time. Stroll through our historic district to the charming village and winding river with five covered bridges, or hike uphill to explore the Old Slate Quarry and mountain trails. Savor the serenity of rockers on our porches, lovely gardens, birdsongs, wind chimes, gentle breezes, and experience the golden sunsets that bathe the Northfield hillside.
Special Occasions... Social, business or family group functions, luncheons, group dinners, and small weddings are welcomed by prior arrangement. Celebrating? With advance notice, we can arrange gifts, flowers, balloons or chocolates and champagne to personalize a romantic getaway or a special occasion. We love surprises! Gift certificates also available. Enjoy lawn games, golf, and tennis; explore mountain trails; fish, canoe, or kayak nearby or just try some old favorite swimming holes. In winter sleigh ride or snowshoe through the winter wonderland, enjoy sledding on our hillside, ice skating on our pond, cross-country skiing or take a short scenic drive to Sugarbush, Mad River Glen or Stowe. Also, within 6 miles miles is the Sunset Lake. Baker's Lake is a stocked with fish every year, so it is a wonderful place for family fishing.
