Little Gnesta is located in Vermont's picturesque Northeast Kingdom. We look forward to greeting you in our historic house set on the isthmus that is downtown Newport, Vermont.
Newport is situated on the shores of Lake Memphremagog, one of the state's two international, glacial lakes, which share a border with Quebec. The north and south bays of Memphremagog are a short, two-block walk from Little Gnesta's front porch. Canada is just six miles away following a lakeside bike/xc ski trail (see mstf.net for trail map). Opportunities for hiking and paddling abound nearby.
Every inch of Little Gnesta has been restored/renovated according to Swedish aesthetics and with your comfort in mind. Throughout the renovation, we have been mindful of the environment by choosing organic linseed oil paints, a wood boiler that incorporates local/renewable heating sources, and when possible, reusing and conserving original architectural elements.
Little Gnesta is a Green Hotel in the Green Mountain State. We offer free wireless Internet.
Three of our simple, yet elegant rooms feature Carpe Diem Beds imported from Sweden. Prices range from $85-$135. A Swedish-style breakfast is included in the price. All rooms have private bathrooms.
Small, toy-sized dogs are permitted. A $25/night fee applies.
