Thompson Purdy
Named after the gentleman who built the original 1764 portion of the house, this second floor corner room features a king canopy bed, a sitting area with love seat and coffee table in front of the fireplace, and a slim-line digital flat-screen TV. It is decorated with a Wedgewood blue damask wall treatment and striped and patterned fabrics. The large fully tiled bathroom contains a corner Jacuzzi for two as well as a shower. Gideon Ormsby
Named after the Revolutionary War hero from Manchester, this is another first-floor room with a private outside entrance. It is decorated in a traditional striped wallpaper in ivory, gold, and black, and all the fabric treatment is a black-background paisley. The room features a king canopy bed with a wicker bench at the foot, a fireplace with two high-back chairs for your comfort, and a slim-line digital flat-screen TV. The large fully tiled bathroom has a shower as well as a Jacuzzi for two (from which, once you open the special raised-paneled doors, you can view the fireplace). With its feeling of serenity, you just might find a way to extend your stay! Rates $205 - $345 -
Taft Suite
Named after President Taft - a visitor to Ormsby Hill, this second-floor corner suite features a magnificent vaulted wooden ceiling with brass chandelier, making our largest room feel even more unique. The king canopy bed faces the wood-burning fireplace (available year round). In this spacious room, filled with afternoon brightness, you will also find a comfortable camel-back sofa in front of the fireplace, writing desk for your convenience, and a slim-line digital flat-screen TV with a DVD/CD player. With a step up, you arrive into the bathroom, luxuriously tiled, featuring a corner Jacuzzi-for-two and a two-person shower which also doubles as a steam sauna, complete with a marble seat. A cozy, comfortable sitting room adjoins the bedroom, which features a refrigerator awaiting your arrival stocked with special goodies. This sitting room will also accommodate a third person. Tower
Named Tower, because this room is located in the tower section of the inn, it is our most exciting guest chamber. As you go up two steps from the second floor, you enter your special space. Upon entering your room, you will find a writing desk with chair and telephone. Up five more steps will lead you into your bed chamber with four windows (two facing the Green Mountains and two facing the Taconic Mountains), a fireplace, a sitting area with a comfortable sofa and wing chair, and a beautiful tiger maple queen-sized bow-top canopy bed. This room also has a slim-line digital flat-screen TV. As you wind your way up to the third floor, passing two more windows with spectacular views, you arrive in your luxuriously tiled bathroom, complete with a corner Jacuzzi-for-two and a two-person shower which also doubles as a steam sauna for two. And, yes, there are two more windows in the bathroom. Rates $250 - $360 -
Anne Eliza
Named after Isham's daughter, this room is located on the second floor and features an antique queen canopy bed. The highlight of this room is the two-sided fireplace. One side in the bedroom faces the bed, and the other side in the bathroom faces your large corner Jacuzzi for two. This will definitely get your attention! This is a very cozy and romantic haven, with its blue toile wall treatment, blue plaid fabric treatments, and indigo blue bathroom (fully tiled with shower). This room also has a slim-line digital flat-screen TV. Rates $205 - $345 -
Lincoln
Named after Robert Todd Lincoln, best friend and law partner of Edward Isham, the second largest guest room, located on the second floor, is another corner room. It features a wood-beaded ceiling and a magnificent king bow-top canopy bed and camel-back sofa, both facing the fireplace. One corner of the room has another comfortable sofa (which opens into a twin bed to accommodate a third person), as well as a chair, for relaxing, reading and watching the slim-line digital flat-screen TV. Also view the fireplace from the whirlpool, hidden behind special raised-paneled doors. The bathroom now features a shower/steam sauna for two and the quietest whirlpool for two (minimal motor noise), run by touchpad, mood light in the water, and pulsating jets -- the ultimate whirlpool. Library
In the 1800's this was Edward Isham's personal library. A first-floor corner room, located just off the Gathering Room. Most books that line these shelves are from Isham's collection, including some first edition books. The window treatments and bed linens add a warm and comfortable feeling to this Colonial-style room. A queen canopy bed facing the wood-burning fireplace (available year round) is just the invitation for romance. The hand-hewn beamed ceiling dates from 1764. Note the beautiful detailed antique ceiling moldings. The bedroom also contains a slim-line digital flat-screen TV. The spacious bathroom has a Jacuzzi for two and a large tiled two-person shower with a built-in seat. Rates $250 - $360 -
Pierrepont
Named after Isham's father and son, this beautiful room, with views of the Green Mountains, is located on the second floor. View the fireplace from the Jacuzzi for two, surprisingly hidden behind special raised-paneled doors. The rich window and wall treatments -- as well as the antique king bow-top canopy bed, featuring an 1800s coverlet used as the canopy top -- enhance the ambience of this very romantic bedchamber. This room also has a slim-line digital flat-screen TV. The fully tiled bathroom also contains a shower. Rates $250 - $360 -
Frances
Introducing The Frances Suite for those who want to experience the ultimate in luxury, Ormsby Hill style. Named after Isham's wife, this second-floor two-room suite, cheerful and bright, faces east and affords glorious panoramic views of the Green Mountains, and features his and her bathrooms. French doors lead you to your own private balcony - complete with your own flower boxes, views of the gardens, trees and those incredible mountains - all while the birds serenade you. We believe there is no comparable room in any inn in Vermont.The sitting room has a wood-burning fireplace (available year round), slim-line digital flat-screen television, VCR/DVD player, a large sofa (which can open into a queen-size bed to sleep an extra one or two persons), a fainting couch, wet bar, and your private refrigerator. Attached to the sitting room is her bathroom with a separate shower and Jacuzzi (OK, two can share the Jacuzzi!).
Then enter the bedroom, with a king-size antique bow-top canopy bed, gas fireplace, and another slim-line digital flat-screen television. Attached to the bedroom is his bathroom with a shower for two which also operates as a steam shower (OK, you can share the shower too!). This room is in a class by itself for the discerning traveler. Ethan Allen
Named after the Revolutionary War hero, this is a very secluded first-floor room, with a private outside entrance and deck with views of the Green Mountains; it's almost like having a cottage inside an inn. This room was honored as a Waverly Room of the Year by Country Inns ("for a beautiful use of Waverly in a traditional setting") and features a handsome, ornate queen canopy bed and a slim-line digital flat-screen TV. The room is noted for romantic appointments, for example the fireplace can be viewed from both the bed and from the Jacuzzi for two (behind special raised-paneled doors). The bathroom is fully tiled and also contains a shower. Rates $250 - $360 -

Room design and ambience have all been created using luxury, romance and comfort as our guiding principles. We hope to anticipate all your needs before you arrive.
- All rates are per room, double occupancy, include gratuities and a full breakfast, and are subject to change without notice.
- Ask about our midweek business traveler rate.
- We are a non-smoking inn. Noncompliance will result in a $100 surcharge.
- Advance Deposit Policy: To confirm reservations, a deposit (per room within seven days of booking) of one night's lodging is required for one and two night stays. A deposit of 50% is required for stays of three nights or longer. Deposits will be forfeited if a guest arrives after the confirmed arrival date or departs before the final day of the reservations. When given at least ten days' notice of cancellation, we will refund the deposit less a $35 per-room processing fee. If less than ten days' notice is given, deposit may be used toward another visit within six months, provided we can rebook the cancelled reservation.
