Travelers stay at our inn for its closeness to to the Canadian border and for the beautiful Haskell Opera House located in both the US and Canada. The only one in the world located in two countries. They love the beauty of the area and the pristine lakes and countryside.
What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?
Our inn is unique because we tailor day trips for our guests including special "innkeeper" maps. Our inn is gracious and comfortable which allows guests to relax and unwind in beautiful Vermont.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?
People come because of the scenic, pristine countryside where working farms still inhabit the land. We have many beautiful lakes and outdoor sports are plentiful.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?
Quiet, peaceful and attention to detail resounds with our guests.
What’s the best kept secret about the area?
Our area is not commercialized. It's an area that when people think of Vermont...it truly is that place.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?
Ski, bike, swim, attend live theater, antique, partake in excellent restaurants, tour fabulous museums, visit cheese farms, ice cider distillers, organic farms and much more.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?
The Haskell Opera House and Library, beautiful Baxter Park
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?
Lago for dinner-Newport Natural Cafe for lunch

We have 3 room all with private baths.

A full breakfast is served each morning in the sun-lit dining room. Breakfast specialities include:

The Birchwood B&B has three large, individually decorated rooms. Each one is beautifully furnished with antiques. All rooms include private bathrooms. Price shown is U.S. dollars, per room, per night.
