  • Introduction

Russell Young Farm Bed and Breakfast - Jerusalem, Vermont

The Russell Young Farm Bed and Breakfast is located on 70 acres of pastures and woods on Russell Young Road in Jerusalem, Vermont. The quiet little village of Jerusalem is located in a valley of the Green Mountain National Forest, approximately half way up the Appalachian Gap. Jerusalem is thought to have received it's name because it is located half way up a mountain as is the ancient city of Jerusalem in the Holy Land. Because of its elevation, Jerusalem offers spectacular views of the Green Mountains. When someone thinks of Vermont, they think of mountain views, relaxing settings, and peacefulness. The Russell Young Farm Bed and Breakfast is all of the above and more.

The house is located at the end of a country lane, in a secluded, peaceful setting. Whether relaxing on our spacious front porch, or in our great room in front of the fireplace, which are all handicapped accessible, you can take advantage of the majestic unobstructed views of the Green Mountains, including Camel's Hump, Mount Ellen, and Mount Abe. The Bed and Breakfast's pastures further compliment this picturesque setting with horses grazing in its fields.

In addition to our full country breakfast, guests are welcome to use our self-serve bar in the dining area, which offers a well-stocked guest refrigerator, coffee maker and sink. This allows guests to store food, or prepare simple meals or snacks.

  • Meet The Innkeepers

Your hosts Carol and Dennis Hysko are both originally from Rhode Island. Friends of Carol and Dennis brought them to Vermont in the eighties, and at that time they both fell in love with Vermont's lifestyle and beauty. In the nineties, they spent three years looking for the ideal location in Vermont, and finally found it at the Russell Young Farm.

Carol graduated from Rhode Island College and until recently was a teacher in the Woonsocket School System, where she taught elementary and special education. Her interests lie in fiber arts, specifically weaving and spinning.

Dennis graduated from Boston University, and was involved in family businesses ranging from broadcasting to retailing. Dennis's hobbies include amateur radio and aviation, however, taking care of the farm and it's animals have now become his main interest.
