The feel throughout is that of a small luxury hotel with personal service to match. Modern appointments, placed discreetly, do not intrude on the rooms period decor. Each of the nine guest rooms has a unique personality, however they all have ironed sheets, private bath, television, DVD player and air conditioning. Three have wood burning fireplaces and there is Wi-Fi available.

Congratulations to you on your wedding plans - we would love to host your special day! We have facilities to accommodate a wide range of weddings: from large to small, formal to casual; inside our crystal chandelier ballroom, out of doors by star and candlelight, or under a twinkling canopy.

The inn's room layout, banquet facilities, and landscaped grounds make it a perfect setting for celebrations. Two wings stem from the central part of the house: the dining room and tavern form the right portion, while the solarium-style ballroom, with more than enough room for a band and dance floor, occupies the left. French doors in both sections open onto a cobblestone courtyard bordered by irises, gladiolas, and the distinctive yellow lilacs for which the inn is known; many actual date from when the house was built more than eighty five years ago. The fragrant spot is an often requested site for weddings, a speciality that showcases the innkeeper's talents.

The Lilac Inn is the place for your special Vermont dream wedding and lasting memories. Our completely renovated 1909 mansion has hosted over four hundred weddings - ranging in size from two to two hundred and fifty guests. Decorated in a casual, but elegant style, the Inn is inviting and comfortable. Each wedding here is special and we tailor our wedding packages to your tastes and interests.

The Inn is built around a cobblestone courtyard that beckons guests to spend time outside in the ever-expanding gardens. There are two acres of landscaped grounds with a picturesque gazebo as a focal point plus two cascading ponds with a frog fountain, Vermont stonewalls, and slate stone benches that enhance the ambiance and provide a setting for relaxation and mediation. The historic grand ballroom is wrapped in oversized beveled glass doors and windows and can accommodate 140 seated guests French doors fill the room with soft sunlight from its southern exposure. Our nine guest rooms, each with private tiled bath, feature contemporary amenities discreetly placed so as not to distract from the historic character of the mansion. Each room is unique and filled with treasures from over thirty years of collecting.
