The Alexandra Inn is a charming 1859 Vermont bed and breakfast with splendid views overlooking the Bennington Battle Monument and Mt. Anthony amidst the Shires of Vermont. Located just 2 miles north of downtown Bennington, VT near the Covered Bridges and Bennington College; this gracious respite offers elegant lodging with modern amenities, innovative cuisine and welcoming hospitality to weary business travelers or vacationing adventurers.

Guests of our Southern Vermont B&B enjoy the comfort of well appointed, clean and restful accommodations with full private bathrooms and unique features such as gas fireplaces warming the colder seasons in the Green Mountains, individual A/C units to cool off those New England summer days, satellite TV, free high speed WiFi, DVD/CD players and alarm-radios with iPod/MP3 docks.

Our visitors also, indulge in the flavors of a full gourmet breakfast and afternoon refreshments where they'll find a selection of natural juices, freshly cut fruit, organic yogurt, home made granola with dried fruit, nuts and bits of dark chocolate (yes, chocolate!). Morning baked croissants and scones, muffins or cake. 100% Colombian coffee (honestly one of the best tasting brews you might try) as well as, a small assortment of teas. Last but not least, an originally prepared and cooked to order hot dish alternating between sweet and savory daily featuring local fresh farm ingredients. In addition, the breakfast room commands a view of our beautiful gardens complete with several bird feeders and a small water fountain.
The Alexandra Bed and Breakfast Inn is an ideal respite to hold small group gatherings of up to 12 or 16 people. From the South (CT) we are about 2 hours north of Hartford area: Take I-91 North, exit 2 for Route 9 West. Go into downtown Bennington and turn right at the 4th light onto US 7 North. Follow the signs for Historic Route 7A. The Inn is on right about 2 miles from downtown. You may also take US 7 North through the Berkshires instead of I-91 North.
From the South (NY) we are about 3 ½ hours north of NYC area: Take I-87 North, exit 7 for NY Route 7 East. NY 7 East becomes Route 9 East in VT. Rather than going through downtown Bennington, stay on 279 (Bennington Bypass) and take exit 1 for North Bennington. Make a right at the end of the exit and follow the signs for Historic Route 7A (turn left just before the light). We are located on the right hand side of Historic 7A. You may also take Route 22 or the Taconic Parkway instead of I-87.
From the East (Boston) we are about 3 ½ hours west of Boston area: Take I-90 West, exit 2 in Lee, MA for US Route 7 North. Go through downtown Bennington and follow the signs for Historic 7A. We are located 2 miles from downtown on the right hand side of Historic 7A. You may also take Route 2 as an scenic drive from Boston instead of I-90.
From the West (Syracuse & Buffalo, NY) we are about 45 minutes east of Albany, NY: Take I-90 East. Then, in Albany area take I-87 North, exit 7 for NY Route 7 East. NY 7 East becomes Route 9 East in VT. Rather than going through downtown Bennington, stay on 279 (Bennington Bypass) and take exit 1 for North Bennington. Make a right at the end of the exit and follow the signs for Historic 7A (turn left just before the light). We are located on the right hand side of Historic 7A.
