  • Southeast Utah

The Southeastern region of Utah is one of the most diverse in the state. There are red rocks, alpine forests, and whitewaters, mountains, gorges and windswept sage flats. The towns have pioneer heritage, as well as a wealth of evidence of pre-historic Native habitation. Arches and Canyonlands National Park are main features. BBIU Member B & B's can be found throughout the region from Moab and Castle Valley to Old LA Sal and Bluff.

Arches and Canyonlands B & B's provide a base from which any visitor can find something to please. The region includes the Dead Horse Point State Park with it's overlook of the Colorado River and Canyonlands pinnacles and buttes. Rafting the Green and Colorado rivers range from casual float trips to whitewater adventures. There is mountain biking on Moab's famous Slickrock and visiting pre-historic ruins and rock art panels. Follow The Trail of The Ancients, with a side trip to Natural Bridges National Monument. Movie sites, wineries, even golf and spa resorts may be visited when in Southeastern Utah.

Just ask an innkeeper at one of the Arches and Canyonlands B & B's for guidebooks, recommendations, and help with planning trips. They are a wealth of information.

Accessed primarily from I-15 and Utah’s Heritage Highway #89, Central Utah’s pioneer heritage is revealed in the towns, and in the cultural and recreational opportunities that abound. On Highway #89, The Historic Manti Temple (one of the first built by the LDS Church) and its annual Mormon Miracle Pageant are a “must see” for visitors. Pioneer homes and museums, as well as those of contemporary art are located throughout the area.

Area activities include boating, fishing, camping, golf, and rock climbing. Some 500+ miles of ATV trails include those that ascend through the aspen and pine forests of the Manti-LaSal National Forest, and includes the “Skyline Drive” (one of the highest roads in the US). The newly developed Arapeen Trail system may be ac- cessed directly from area inns. Horseback riding, mountain biking, and winter snowmobiling are also popular uses of the trails. Central Utah is also home to The Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry, one of the world’s foremost dinosaur fossil sources. More than 12,000 individual bones and one dinosaur egg have come from this prolific fossil bed. Ask an innkeeper at a Manti, Historic Highway #89 B & B for guidebooks, recommendations, and help with planning trips.
