Cental Utah
Read MoreAccessed primarily from I-15 and Utah’s Heritage Highway #89, Central Utah’s pioneer heritage is revealed in the towns, and in the cultural and recreational opportunities that abound. On Highway #89, The Historic Manti Temple (one of the first built by the LDS Church) and its annual Mormon Miracle Pageant are a “must see” for visitors. Pioneer homes and museums, as well as those of contemporary art are located throughout the area. Area activities include boating, fishing, camping, golf, and rock climbing. Some 500+ miles of ATV trails include those that ascend through the aspen and pine forests of the Manti-LaSal National Forest, and includes the “Skyline Drive” (one of the highest roads in the US). The newly developed Arapeen Trail system may be ac- cessed directly from area inns. Horseback riding, mountain biking, and winter snowmobiling are also popular uses of the trails. Central Utah is also home to The Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry, one of the world’s foremost dinosaur fossil sources. More than 12,000 individual bones and one dinosaur egg have come from this prolific fossil bed. Ask an innkeeper at a Manti, Historic Highway #89 B & B for guidebooks, recommendations, and help with planning trips.
