Smithville is a city in Bastrop County, Texas near the Colorado River. On December 2nd 2006, at the annual Festival of Lights, Smithville entered the Guinness Book of world records for the biggest gingerbread man ever, measuring over 26 feet. Smithville will be holding it's 51st Jamboree celebration in March. There will be a carnival, dances, arts and crafts, a parade, car show, pet show and livestock show and sale.
