  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Dawn Fleming for sharing her own secrets with BBOnline.com!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

We offer a lot of free amenities such as free wifi, free bottled water, free snacks and fruit, free homemade cookies and much more. We are convenient to everything in Lubbock. Our Santa Fe Caboose is a big draw for people. Our hospitality far exceeds any hospitality you could get in a hotel.

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

We have a Santa Fe Caboose that you can actually stay in. We are right across the street from Texas Tech University, so within walking distance to all sporting events, concerts and plays. We have a pool and a hot tub. I love the fact that we are a relaxing retreat right smack in the middle of Lubbock and convenient to everything!

If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

Lubbock is Buddy Holly’s hometown. If you are a music lover, this is the place to be. Lots of live entertainment. We also have several unique museums. Silent Wings Museum, American Wind Power Museum and of course, the Buddy Holly Center.

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

People love the service and hospitality we offer here. Probably our best compliment is when people tell us they will never stay in a hotel ever again!

What’s the best kept secret about the area?

Buddy Holly is one of the best kept secrets. Not many people know he grew up here. We have beautiful sunrises and sunsets and our blue sky goes on forever! There is also so much to do here! We also have 4 wineries here! Lots of grapes are grown in this area. About 90% of the texas wines get their grapes from this area.

If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

Live Entertainment for sure. Buddy Holly things and the museums. Lots of great local restaurants. I would even suggest a day trip to Palo Duro Canyon. It is the 2nd largest canyon in the US and is only an hour and a half driving distance away.

Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

Texas Tech University. A great local restaurant called Café J’s. Lots of shopping and restaurants.

What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

We have several local restaurants that serve great steaks. Triple J’s, Cagles, Double Nickel, 50 Yard Line, Harrigans, Los Brisos. Tex Mex is good here too. Abuelos, Mi Tios, just to name a few.
