We are a 12-room country inn and spa on 88 Texas Hill Country acres with stunning views, relaxing porches and luxury accommodations. Located just 25 miles from Austin, TX, the Inn Above Onion Creek was designed to be the ultimate Texas bed and breakfast inn for romantic getaways, Hill Country vacations or corporate retreats. Built from the ground up in 1993, The Inn was designed to resemble a late 1800's Texas homestead and was meticulously planned to offer the finest accommodations at a bed and breakfast. The rustic setting and antique furnishings blend with modern amenities to create a stylish and comfortable lodging experience.

Fine Dining

To enhance your special experience at the Inn, we provide you with both dinner and breakfast. Once you arrive, you can forget about climbing back into your car in search of your evening meal. You can simply relax and enjoy the view until your dinner is served. Please think of Executive Chef Adrian Galindo and his team as your personal culinary staff while you are here at the Inn. The chef designs the fixed menu approximately one week in advance with your dietary considerations in mind. Fresh, local ingredients are used whenever possible. You are served a wonderful three-course dinner every night at 6 pm in our dining room, where the dress is casual. Please bring your favorite wine with you as we do not have a liquor license. Seating is more like a dinner party with 4, 6, or 8 guests to a table. If you prefer dinner in your room, we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Every morning in the dining room, your first cup of fresh coffee is ready for you by 7:15 am and your breakfast is served between 8:30 and 10 am. For starters, you'll find a basket of baked breads, scones, and/or muffins, as well as a tray of fresh seasonal fruits and our homemade granola. Your plated hot breakfast will be brought to the table by one of our breakfast staff. And, of course, every Inn Above Onion Creek day begins with fresh squeezed orange juice!

 

The Grounds

The Inn sits on a hill above Onion Creek offering beautiful views of the Hill Country to the west. Sunsets are often spectacular, and the night view of the stars is unimpaired by city lights. The Inn is set on a 100-acre plot with miles of trails. The countryside is rich with wildlife including deer, blackbuck antelope, wild turkey, fox, raccoons and abundant birdlife. During warm weather the swimming pool offers a great place to relax day or night. A kitchen garden filled with seasonal flowers, vegetables, herbs, antique roses, and old fashioned vines greets you as you drive into the parking area. The butterflies float by on their way to the abundant flowers.

The Inn Above Onion Creek Inn is ideal for weddings for up to 150 people. We have mulitple outdoor locations to choose from. The courtyard with the rustic buildings in the background is a popular location. As is the back lawn with it's amazing twenty mile views of the Texas hill country. For more intimate ceremonies we have a rustic cedar gazebo located in our flower garden. Needless to say, with 88 acre grounds we're sure you can help you find the perfect spot to say "I do".

Situated on 88 acres, we have one of the largest grounds of any Texas hill country bed and breakfast.With miles of hiking and biking trails to explore, including the "overlook" which sits atop a cliffside eighty feet above Onion Creek, there are endless stunning views of the hills surrounding the Inn Above Onion Creek. Our pool, partially shaded by large native oaks, is another great place to relax and take in the beauty of the hill country. How many people can you accommodate?

We only offer outdoor hill country weddings.There are multiple sites on the property that can accommodate a maximum of 150 people. Unfortunately we do not have an indoor venue for ceremonies. Our dining room can seat up to 34 people. With the unpredictable Texas hill country weather we recommend a tent rental for receptions needing to accommodate more than 34 people.
Do you have indoor ceremony locations?

We do not have a dedicated indoor facility for weddings. However in the past our library has held smaller weddings of 20 people or less.

Do I have to rent all of the rooms?

To hold a wedding at the main Inn does require you to book all 12 rooms. However, Maurice's Cottage is a great location for weddings up to 60 people and only requires the rental of Maurice's Cottage & Guest Room. The cost for a wedding at Maurice's Cottage is $2500 plus tax. It includes the Cottage and Guest Room for two nights and the facility use fee. Maximum 60 people.
How much is it to book the entire Inn?

For two weekend nights, including tax, weddings rates are at $7395 for all twelve rooms. That is based on double occupany, and a total of 26 people. The rate includes breakfast for all guests staying at the Inn. Dinner is NOT included with special wedding pricing. Each additional guest over 26 persons is $59.00 per person, per night.

Is there an extra charge for weddings at the Inn?

We do have a facility use fee for weddings that is tiered on the number of guests. This fee is over and above the room charges.

1-26 Guests: $500
27-39 Guests: $1000
40-59 Guests: $1500
60-89 Guests: $2000
90-119 Guests: $2500
120-150 Guests: $3000
Can you do the catering?

We can do the catering. Our chef will work with you to create the perfect menu for you and your guests. We can offer multi-course meals for 50 guests or buffet style up to 100 guests. Chef Galvan also offers wonderful appetizers and hors'douves. Rates vary depending on menu selections. Outside caterers are welcome with an additional 10% service charge on the caterer's bill.
Do you offer wedding planning?

We do not have a full time wedding planner. We can assist with details such as communicating with your vendors where to set things up. It's important to us that your wedding come off perfectly planned and we will try to help make that happen. Having successfully held dozens of weddings we have a list of preferred vendors for items such as tables & chairs, tents, flowers and cakes.

The 100 acre setting The Inn Above Onion Creek occupies is a great place for larger group events including, hill country weddings, birthday parties, family reunions, bridal luncheons, girlfriend getaways, holiday parties and group socials. Our chef can tailor a menu for your special event. Whether you need appetizers, passed hors-d'ouevres, craving stations, buffet-style, or a 5 course sit-down dinner, Chef Marcos Galvan can create the perfect menu for you and your guests.
Texas Meeting Space

The Inn has three designated areas for meeting space in the texas hill country. Each area offers something special for your corporate meeting or company retreat. Call us to help you find the perfect meeting place at our texas hill country bed and breakfast.

The library is the Inn's main meeting area. It's convienently located next to our dining room. The library can be setup boardroom style or left in a more casual manner. It's great for meetings upto 20 people.

Maurice's Cottage located a half mile from the main inn is our largest room at the Inn. It's large living room is ideal for groups of 15 people or less. The porch areas are great for breakout sessions. Maurice's also offers a full kitchen which is perfect for perparing snacks. And remember we can cater your meeting so you don't have to worry about a thing.

Thelma's Cottage is located about a quarter mile from the main inn. It's bright airy interior is a perfect location for small business planning sessions. A small kitchenette with mini-fridge and microwave are handy for keeping the drinks cold and making snacks.

We are quietly celebrating the opening of our Spa located in the loft space at Thelma's Cottage. Our goal is to expand the way you can experience the peaceful environment of the Inn. Located 25 miles southwest of Austin.
Exit 213 off I-35.
Take access road to stop light and turn west onto FM 150, known as Center Street.
Drive through the town of Kyle approximately 10 blocks and turn right at the stop sign
where W FM 150 turns right toward Wimberley and Driftwood.
The Inn is 5.3 miles down the road on the right.
Half a mile from us on the right is the gated subdivision of Indian Hills.
Two tenths of a mile from us on the left is tall cell phone antenna.
Turn right at our sign and follow the driveway 1 mile up to the Inn.
