Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Ron Maddux for sharing his own secrets with BBOnline.com! Why do most travelers stay at your inn?
Most travelers stay at our inn because of its location and historic décor. We are located in the main block of our shopping district and the inn is only ½ block from Marktplatz. Marktplatz is where all our local events take place like Oktoberfest and Wine and Food Fest.
What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?
We are best known for our upscale and period décor. Our inn was decorated by the head decorator of Homestead Furnishings, an internationally recognized design house. I love the décor, the location and the historic significance of our inn.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?
The #1 reason to visit Fredericksburg is our German heritage architecture. Wine producing vineyards and unique shops are reasons people come to Fredericksburg.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?
We have had many compliments over the years, but our inn has been complimented many times for its cleanliness, location and unique décor.
What’s the best kept secret about the area?
The best kept secret of the area is how many state parks we have. We have Lady Bird Johnson State Park and golf course, Enchanted Rock State Park and Lyndon B. Johnson State Park all within 15 miles of the inn.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?
A 4 night stay should feature all of the upscale dining we have, unique shopping, antiquing, state park visits, golfing and tours through the local wineries and wine tastings at many shops and vineyards.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?
The Marktplatz (where all the yearly events take place), upscale shopping, restaurants, wine shops, wine bars, Nimitz Museum, George w. Bush Museum. Japanese Gardens, County Court House, Pioneer Museum, and Rock Box Theater are all within walking distance of our inn.
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?
We have many upscale restaurants in Fredericksburg, but we specialize in great German food.
Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?
There are many websites that feature Fredericksburg, Texas. One of the best sites is fredericksburg-lodging.com/.
How many rooms does your inn have?
