    Welcome to the Prairie Street Heritage House

     

    Turn of the century charm is found at this Columbus Bed & Breakfast 1890 home.  Located in the historic district of Columbus, Texas, our guests enjoy a leisurely continental breakfast in the midst of period furnishings and an occasional afternoon tea served on the back porch.

    Our guests stay here because they are attending weddings, funerals, family reunions in the area, or a halfway stopping spot during their travels.

    Simple quaint home decorated with class - no over the top Victorian decor

    Unique - renting a home for relaxation - we do not live at the inn.

    Small town charm

    If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

    Day trip to Austin. Houston or San Antonio, site seeing to see the Painted Churches of Texas, area wineries, nice surrounding golf courses, canoeing on the Colorado river and for bicycle enthusiasts, countless farm to market roads.

    Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

    Yes - area walking tours - see the library, courthouse, historic homes & museum, antique shops, candy shop, bakeries, Becky's Cafe and locally owned shops on "square".

    What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

    Schobels, Nancy's Steakhouse, Los Cabos Mexican Food, Becky's, Mikeskas, Formosa - Chinese Restaurant, Roasters Chicken Grill, Cantus Bar

    How many rooms does your inn have?

    We have  2 bedrooms - can sleep up to 8 people.

    Do you accept pets?

    No Pets Allow - possibly board at the "Puppy Club" in Columbus, Texas.

    Tea is available in Columbus, Texas. High Tea will be offered at 2:00 p.m. on the below scheduled dates. Stop by for tea in a traditional elegant tea room fare in an historical venue and atmosphere. High Tea rates $15.00 per person.
