Like a bed and breakfast, a vacation rental at Canyon Lake Ranch caters to your needs. Unlike a bed & breakfast, your vacation home is completely private and offers an entire cabin for: romance, honeymoon, wedding, anniversary, birthday celebration, vacation getaway, corporate retreat, or business meeting. Join us and experience luxury on our Texas Hill Country estate near Canyon Lake. Bed and breakfast style, guests are welcomed with a fresh fruit basket, great cookies, complimentary wine, guest robes, over-sized towels, bath amenities and bedside chocolates. A "Welcome” hot breakfast is also available in your private cottage at extra charge.
 

On the ranch - Longhorns and more

Canyon Lake Ranch is the center of your Guadelupe River and Canyon Lake experience. Hand feed our Longhorns, chosen for beautiful coats and long, curling horns. Call them and they will come to eat "cookies" from your hands across the fence. Hike, stargaze, bird watch, play horseshoes or just relax in the hot tub. Books, magazines, cards, and games are provided in each vacation home as is satellite television and a VCR. Starview Lodge guests can also swim in their own private pool or shoot baskets at the half court located past the pool.

Amenities:  Far surpassing the usual bed and breakfast, cabin, or cottage experience, Canyon Lake Ranch vacation homes offer far more. Experiencing the standards of fine Texas inns, Canyon Lake Ranch lodging guests enjoy life “Texas style,” with space, in one of two vacation homes, on a secluded ranch estate with Longhorns to hand feed. Each guest welcome includes a fresh fruit basket, a complimentary bottle of wine, cookies, guest robes, over-sized hot tub towels, bath amenities by Bath and BodyWorks, and bedside chocolates. In addition, a barbecue grill, satellite television and VCR are included.

Meetings, Corporate Retreats and Executive Meetings
Three meeting rooms are available with a full ranch reservation.  Day meetings for up to 50 attendees with overnight accommodations for up to 20 guests.  High-speed wireless, Internet computer, fax, copy machine and screen are available.  Continental breakfast, catered lunch, barbecue supper with western singing and musical entertainment are available.  Massage and spa services on-site with advance reservation.

About Us

Dan and Robbi Boone own and manage Canyon Lake Ranch with the assistance of their daughter, Carrie, who handles reservations and wedding coordination. When you call, you will be speaking with one of us. Carrie is also the Innkeeper of our downtown San Antonio bed and breakfast, Alamo Street Victorian Inn.
 
Dan - Originally hails from Lebanon, Tennessee, but has been in and out of Texas since 1941.  He is retired from the US Air Force and holds a double Ph.D in both Clinical and Experimental Psychology.  Flying his Piper Archer, sailing and skiing are his first loves - after Robbi. Dan is very active in Comal County and is actively seeking solutions to growth, water, education and transportation requirements confronting Texans.
 
Robbi - Arrived in Texas from the Chicago suburbs in 1980 indicating she got here “as soon as I could”.  A teacher, with an MA in Educational Administration, Robbi operated “A King’s Attic Antiques” before remodeling (with Dan) both the ranch and the Alamo Street Victorian Inn (which they disassembled and moved across downtown San Antonio before renovating it for the bed and breakfast).

Carrie - Lives at the Alamo Street Victorian Inn with our grandson, Sammy.  Carrie is the Innkeeper, chief operating officer and telephone voice you will most often hear when you call.  A theatre arts teacher, Carrie chooses to be in an at home-based occupation until her son is older.

ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES
Our wedding coordinator can assist you, handle everything, or you may prefer to reserve Canyon Lake Ranch for your wedding and make all the arrangements on your own.  Catering, flowers, music, clergy, photography and guest accommodations are available as you require.

JUST THE TWO OF US: A SIMPLE WEDDING
Includes your private wedding ceremony at Starview Lodge, a miniature wedding cake, a bubbly toast and two nights at Starview Lodge for the bridal couple.

ROMANTIC INTIMATE HILL COUNTRY WEDDINGS
Includes your private wedding ceremony, wedding cake and punch or a toast for up to 10, 25 or 50 guests.  Flowers, music and other options may be added to this package.

FULL SCALE HILL COUNTRY RANCH WEDDINGS AND RECEPTIONS
Includes use of the ranch for a wedding and reception of 50 guests and two nights at Starview Lodge for the bridal couple.  7 hours allowed for set-up, wedding, texas vacation homesreception and clean up.

Endless Possibilities includes: Choice of varied ranch settings for ceremony and reception. Options include music, flowers, cake, complete catering, photography and beverage services.

COUNTRY/CITY COMBINATION WEDDING AND HONEYMOON
Canyon Lake Ranch wedding and reception may be combined with a honeymoon stay at Alamo Street Victorian Inn, our downtown San Antonio/Riverwalk area bed and breakfast. Weddings and receptions for 50 or less may also be held at the Alamo Street Victorian Inn with honeymoon stays at the ranch.

Enhance your stay at Canyon Lake Ranch with day spa experiences.  After a therapeutic soak in the hot tub, a quick dip in the pool and a relaxing session in our indoor dry or steam sauna, pamper yourself with a customized massage, body scrub, manicure and/or pedicure by our licensed masseuse an esthetician.  Advance reservation recommended.

BODY SCRUBS, MANICURES AND PEDICURES
Sugar, salt and mineral scrubs designed to enhance your baby soft skin are available by appointment.  Body polish, manicures and pedicures may also be arranged on site with advance reservation.

MASSAGE
Picture relaxing in front of a soothing fire, stretched out on the pool deck or relaxing in the shade of a Texas oak while experiencing a fabulous massage.  Swedish and therapeutic sport massage are both available by the hour or more.

A DAY AT THE SPA

Gather a group (3 to 6) and make the Canyon Lake Ranch Spa a day to remember.  Start the day with coffee, juice and breakfast pastries while relaxing at the swimming pool or in front of the fireplace.  Unwind in the hot tub and sauna, and then let our experienced staff serve your needs: massage, scrub, and nail treatment.  Hair services may be added to this special day at the beauty shop located nearby.  Lunch may be arranged.  Complimentary wine, fresh fruit and cookies are included.    

Guests staying in our lodges have loads of choices for activities in the surrounding Texas Hill Country Area.

DOWN THE ROAD A BIT

Nearby are the quaint hill country towns of Gruene, New Braunfels, Wimberley, Blanco and San Marcos.  They all offer great antiquing, shopping restaurants and vacation activities including kayaking, boating, tubing and fishing. Horseback riding, moonlit dinners, fly fishing adventures or day trips, all on Canyon Lake, can be arranged.  Many of our guests love Schlitterbahn and Natural Bridge Caverns.

SHOPPING

Shopping is incredible with the Hill Country towns of Wimberley, Gruene and Blanco within a 15 or 20-minute drive from  Canyon Lake Ranch . Antiques, stained glass, original clothing, handmade furniture and original Texas art are only a few of the possibilities. Another popular destination is the outlet malls at both New Braunfels and San Marcos.

EVENTS and PARTIES

Weddings at Canyon Lake Ranch are a tradition. Choose to be married under the 200-year-old family oak, on a scenic Austin stone rock outcropping with a view of the hills or more formally, at the swimming pool fountain. The dance court works equally well for outdoor tables and for the Texas Two-Step.  Bring your own liquor and food, hire a caterer or ask for assistance.  You choose.

REUNIONS, RETREATS, and CONFERENCES

Lodging for family reunions and small corporate retreats are also natural occurrences at the Canyon Lake Ranch Bed and Breakfast Lodges. The two separate lodges sleep a total of 14 guests.  20 guests is about the maximum  for Canyon Lake Ranch.

As each of our two guest homes is privately located from the other, children of all ages are welcome. The pool is not separately fenced from Starview Lodge. Children may only be on the pool deck or in the pool or hot tub with the supervision of an adult. By reserving a stay, guests assume total responsibility for the safety of children and one another.

Pets are welcome and provided for at Longhorn Lodge. Soft doggie beds welcome both large and small pets. Dog treats and the fenced yard are the first things dogs notice. Dogs and cats all like the pet toys available to play with. If you hike the ranch with your dogs, please have a leash available as Clementine, our oldest Longhorn cow, does not like dogs. And as much fun as it could be only human guests in the hot tub, please.

HOUSEKEEPING:

• A two-night minimum stay is required. Should an exception be made, an additional charge will be added to the nightly rate.
• All reservations are confirmed by credit card.  
• When departing,  the home is to be left as it was found; all dishes, pot and pans washed, dried and put away. Extra-ordinary cleaning will incur a cleaning fee based upon additional time required.
• Smoking is only permitted on the pool deck or porches.
• Reserving a stay indicates guest acceptance of responsibility for personal safety and damage to the ranch, pool and hot tubs. Charges for damage are only made with guest notification.   Please be aware that hot tub covers are not safe seats for people or pets.
• Weddings, receptions and reservations of both homes require a 50% deposit.

CANCELLATIONS:
Most reservations require cancellation 14 days prior to arrival date to receive a full refund minus a $35 service fee.  Cancellations made within the cancellation period are only charged if the reservation cannot be rebooked.  Should this occur rain-checks may be given for Sunday to Thursday stays, subject to availability.  Please call for specifics and additional information.Reservations for special events, holidays and bookings of both homes require a 30 to 60 day cancellation and incur a $100 cancellation fee. Wedding deposits are non-refundable.  Call for details before reserving.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES:
Check-in time is anytime after 4:00 P.M.  We try to be here to personally greet you.  Let us know your arrival time to be certain that you know how to enter the ranch correctly. Checkout time is by 11:00 A.M.  Should you need additional time, please ask. Late checkouts, without advance approval, may be charged for an extra day.

SMOKING:
No smoking is allowed inside Canyon Lake Ranch vacation homes.  Smoking is permitted on the porches or pool deck for fire prevention, safety and guest allergies.  Please fully extinguish smoking materials at all times and be aware.

ALLERGY FREE:
Starview Lodge is totally pet and feather free in consideration of allergic guests. Pets can stay at Longhorn Lodge with advance reservation.  While a security deposit is not charged, completed reservations are considered acknowledgement and acceptance of responsibility for any damage.

PETS CAN STAY:
Pets are welcome and provided for at Longhorn Lodge.  There is a $25 per pet, per night, fee. Soft doggie beds welcome both large and small pets.  Dog treats and the fenced yard are the first things dogs notice. If you hike the ranch with your dogs, please have a leash available as Clementine, our oldest Longhorn cow, does not like dogs.  And, as much fun as it could be, only human guests in the hot tub, please. Pets are NOT allowed on the hot tub covers as this breaks the cover.

CHILDREN:
As each of our two guest homes are privately located from the other, children of all ages are welcome guests.  The pool is not separately fenced from Starview Lodge.  Children may only be on the pool deck or in the pool or hot tub with the supervision of an adult.  By reserving a stay, guests assume total responsibility for the safety of children and one another.

HOT TUBS AND SAUNA:
These experiences are relaxing, and can be romantic. Please limit yourselves to 10 minutes at a time and do not set the temperature at more than 100 degrees. Young children, and guests who: are pregnant, have heart problems and/or other physical limitations should not use the hot tub or sauna.  The hot tubs are to be covered except when in use, and children must be supervised at all times. Children and pets are not safe on the hot tub covers.

DAY GUESTS:
Canyon Lake Ranch facilities are for the exclusive use of our guests.  Guests are welcome to have friends or family members stop by for a short visit.  Visitors remaining longer than 3 hours and/or using the hot tub or pool will be charged overnight rates.  In no case may more guests than the maximum allowed for the house stay overnight.  Parties may only be held with advance reservation. Please let us know when visitors are expected so we may welcome them to our ranch.
