Blanco Texas is located about 45 miles north of San Antonio. A couple of great places to stay while visiting in town are Blanco bed and breakfasts and Blanco inns. The Blanco Classic Car Show is held every year on the third Saturday in May, along the banks of the Blanco River in Blanco State Park. The Blanco Lavender Festival is held in May each year. The Blanco State Park is within walking distance from downtown Blanco. It is the smallest state park in Texas. The old Blanco County jail was built in 1877 and is one of the oldest standing buildings in Blanco. The jail was used until 1890.
