    Plum Pond Bed & Breakfast of East Texas - Athens, Texas

    The elegant and spacious Plum Pond Bed & Breakfast is nestled on 70 tranquil acres in the heart of the quiet woods and lakes of East Texas. It rests within ideal proximity -- just 20 minutes -- of Canton, Texas and its First Monday Trade Days. Guests have available to them their own Texas Living Room, fully furnished kitchen and dining area, as well as four luxurious bedrooms and two and 1/2 baths. In addition, an outdoor grill is available on the Great Deck for guests to prepare other meals enjoyed around the wrought iron table with 6 seats.

    Guests wake up each morning to the smell of freshly brewed specialty coffee. Breakfast is served on the main floor in the spacious and light-filled Great Dining Room just off the Great Room and Great Kitchen. Our inviting Great Deck overlooks our gardens, shady lawn, pastures, and trails leading to the forest and creek beyond. The lodge-style great room with its Texas and native art, vaulted ceilings, and farm plank floors, invites guests to relax with a good book or board game or start a leisurely jigsaw puzzle.

    We are horse friendly....with two horse stalls with water and hay, and
    direct access to our 70 acres of meadows and forest trails.

    During walks through the woods and flora or around the pond, guests may find wild blackberries, wildflowers galore, as well as song birds and water fowl.

    Complimentary wine or sparkling water with lemon is served at 5:30 PM in the evening from the Great Dining Room and Great Room or deck, depending on the weather. A half bath is located on the hall next to the Great Kitchen and the Great Room. Guests can enjoy satellite TV programming with DVD player, VCR, and a good variety of movies in both DVD and VCR format. It is a great place to enjoy board games, cards, with lots of room for relaxing with friends and family while sharing a cup of coffee, soft drinks, or a glass of wine.
