If you're looking for a quiet place to spend a day or week, this former quarter-horse breeding ranch offers a peaceful get-away to the Prairies & Lakes region of beautiful East Texas. Enjoy the country sounds and gentle breezes from our patios, watch the birds play and the wildflowers grow!
At breakfast you'll be treated to a hearty country breakfast of biscuits and sausage gravy, eggs and grits (or hash browns), bacon and sausage, an assortment of jams and jellies, and plenty of fresh, hot coffee served in the formal dining room. Tasty surprises from Gwen's creative kitchen await your next day's breakfast! After breakfast, take a leisurely walk over the 12 acres through century old oak trees, simply relax in the patio swings, or sit on the deck and enjoy the comforting sounds of nature and cool breezes.
Oak Meadow Bed & Breakfast is located three miles east of Athens at Ranch Road and Flat Creek Road. We're on the way to Lake Athens, home of the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center, a state-of-the-art replica of Texas freshwater estuaries and genetics research center for black bass.
Our goal at Oak Meadow Bed & Breakfast is for you to relax and escape the rush-rush of big city living in a place where you can be yourself, rest, and soak up the pleasures of country living.
