  • Introduction

    Watertown Bed & Breakfast

Watertown Bed and Breakfast is located in beautiful, historic Watertown, Tennessee, just 40 miles East of Nashville. Proprietors Bob and Sharon McComb decided to open a bed and breakfast several years ago, and when they saw this house one weekend, they bought it the following Monday. Over the last several years they have renovated, remodeled and decorated this beautiful old home with love and good taste. The house has five rooms available and the four upstairs rooms include full baths. The house also offers a sitting area in the front parlor, a library and game room, a spacious dining room, and verandahs both upstairs and downstairs with comfortable seating.

Watertown is the place to go to get away from the stress and tension of everyday life. Nowhere can you find a more peaceful, serene setting. Come to Watertown Bed and Breakfast and transport yourself back to a time when life was simpler.

Whether here on business, considering relocation, touring, or vacationing, a stay in this late 19th century building will surprise and delight you. The Historic Railroad Hotel was built in 1898 and is located just off the square in Watertown, a small village 40 minutes east of Nashville.

"In December 1988, I read an article about a couple who bought an old hotel and redid it for a bed and breakfast. I said, 'That's what I want to do.' The next month, we looked at this one weekend and bought it on Monday!"

Sharon and her husband Bob renovated four guest rooms, a two-room guest suite with Jacuzzi, a library, large kitchen, a lobby, and upper and lower verandas. The property has recently been added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Historic Watertown is very much as it was in the early part of the century. "This is a nice place to get-away," Sharon says of Watertown. "Nashville is only 40 minutes away, but this is a whole different lifestyle than in the city." Guests enjoy the upstairs and downstairs porch swings, riding the inn's tandem bike around town, the lazy hammock on the upper veranda, the huge selection of books in the library, parlor games, and the village restaurant and nearby antique shops,  only one block away.

Guests are served a full breakfast each morning in the elegant dining room.
